Unfortunately, there is no way to share the pokedex entries. Although, if you know of some people that will share their friend codes and have the Pokemon you're looking for, you can trade them online through the Pokecenter, even if you haven't seen those Pokemon in your game.

2nd Platinum Wi-Fi Event (For Japanese Platinum At This Time.)

Hot off the heels of the successful Secret Key giveaway over the WiFi Connection, Nintendo has announced in CoroCoro of another WiFi Event for Platinum players only. From December 1st 2008 to January 15th 2009, you will be able to download the Member's Card over the Mystery Gift over WiFi Connection feature in Pokémon Platinum. This item gives you access to the house in Canalave City. You go to sleep in there and awake on New Moon Island where a level 50 Darkrai takes residence. Once captured, you will also get details about Darkrai's backstory.

I am a bit worried about D/P being able to use this event (via Transferring/Downloading it), especially after this from Bulbapedia.com: "While the Member Card is present in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, the Wonder Card that will be downloaded directly is programmed to be compatible with Platinum only."

This may change for the USA Release or perhaps can still be transferred to D/P, but that's my opinion on it (since I want to get Darkrai on My Pearl Game Legally).

News On Shaymin's Item: Oak's Letter (JPN Platinum Event)

The official Japanese site yesterday revealed a teaser saying that Shaymin will be given away next year over Mystery Gift - Wi-Fi Connection. This will be done utilising the item "Oak's Letter" which gives you access to the Flower Paradise in Sinnoh. Here, Shaymin will be found. Unfortunately, this Shaymin will not be able to activate the Glacidea Flower, but it will be able to be transformed by it if you already have one.This Wi-Fi event is likely to start on March 2nd, after the second give-away of the Secret Key. We'll bring you more on this when we get it

Update News On Darkrai's Item: Member's Card (JPN Platinum Event)

Last night, when it hit the first in Japan, the Darkrai event became active over Platinum's Mystery Gift Via Wi-Fi Connection. This event allows you to download the Member's Card that allows you to get access to New Moon Island and thus capture Darkrai within your game. This event is only accessible for Pokémon Platinum players and will be running until January 15th 2009.

(Hopefully these event items will come over the Wi-Fi in the USA when the events are available here and hopefully, it will be for all three versions.)

*I am glad though that Nintendo are making the items (at least the first 2) available somehow.

Any suggestions in regarding contacting Nintendo to suggest the availability Of Member's Card (Darkrai's Item) for all three versions when it comes out in the USA?

(I thought it would be a good idea to tell Nintendo of America now before they do the event, but take note, I already tried emailing and it didn't work.)

=> This would allow eliminate the need for hacking on Diamond and Pearl while if players do go to tournaments, Nintendo would be able to tell the games with Hacked Member's card over the ones who downloaded it legally.

thanks to Cloud, I have the Emerald Starters, and I've progressed past the 8th gym. YAY!

Still trying to find that Munclax guy.. he never wants to show up, and the only thing people on the GTS want to trade him for is a Palkia or other legendary at level 100.  

 

when i want something on GTS i put just any pokemon i can spare up and my request, and usually in a week or 2, someone will trade. i've think the longest i've waited was when i did that was for a female chimchar and it took 3 weeks before someone traded. it's worth a shot

 

So, has there been any word on when Pokemon Platinum's coming out in the states?

 

I spent like 2 or 3 weeks trying to find one through the honey trees. Never actually did. And yeah, the GTS is full of unreasonable trades for one. It's just easier to breed one from Snorlax but unfortunately I seem to have lost my full incense to do so myself... I'm pretty sure I accidentally released the Snorlax I had that was holding it.

 

I have several Munchlax that I bred trying to get the right nature. They all have the egg move Psychic Headbutt. I'd be willing to trade them for any of the starters from Red/Blue or Silver/Gold. Send me a PM if you're interested.

BTW, has the whole online trading thing fizzled or is it still going strong?

 

I see a lot of people that trade on community boards, so it still has a niche market.

it's still going strong as long as u can find someone to trade with, or don't mind waiting a couple days for someone to trade through the GTS. i go on the GTS almsot every night looking, but most of what everyone wants is lvl 100 anything for thier commmon pokemon. that's y i offer up something for what i want usually i get it in a couple days

but if u r up for some trading feel free to msg me and i'll see if i have what u want 

 

Found out today at Serebii.net [http://www.serebii.net] that Pokemon Platinum is coming out in the states on March 22, 2009. Of course, this is a tentative release.
