Wow....That is a better episode so far this season. They stay pretty close to the comic appearence with regards to Doomsday. Next new episode is January 15, 2009. It's gonna be a long two months to see what happens next. And judging by the previews for the upcoming episode, it looks pretty good.
Yeah, I haven't watched Smallville since (I know this is gonna sound totally lame) Jonathan Kent died (2006)... but from what I've read here... It sounds as though it got interesting again? Do I have this right? Those images of Doomsday remind me of Ultimate Green Goblin. Seriously.
This season has been nothing short of brilliant. It's light years beyond the dreck of the last few seasons.
Doomsday was pretty impressive. WTF was Chloe smiling at the end? Looked like their might have been some Brainiac left over in her somewhere.
Yeah, it was Brainiac taking control of her again, but he was still in the Fortress after Jor-El drained him out of her. That's why Doomsday took her there, so Brainiac could re-infect her.
I respectfully disagree, I think the writing is genuinely good this season. Compared to the debacle that is Heroes, it's freakin' Masterpiece Theater.
zOMG WHAT A TEASE!!!1!1 (Of course, I'm referring to the near kiss between Clark and Lois. And no, I am not serious.) I need to catch up. I've been out of the loop on this show since the beginning of last season.
I can't speak for Heroes, but I agree that the writing has been very good this season. I don't miss Lana's character, but damn if that new hair style hasn't elevated her hotness a bit. Erica Durance looking hot every episode doesn't hurt either.
I stopped watching Smallville around whatever season Pa Kent died and Lois showed up. Then a friend sent me a teaser for this season, and I've been watching it. It's not a "fantastic" TV show, but it is entertaining, and I've been enjoying it so far.
Damn straight. Cutting loose the baggage she, Lionel and even Lex brought with them has freed this show up tremendously.
I have only watched this show off an on this season. I decided to watch last night since Doomsday was going to appear. Since the whole story of the death and return of Superman is one of my favorite comic stories of all time, I had some high expectations. I was a little disappointed. The idea of Doomsday being an angsty heartbroken young man sickens me a little. Also, the whole point of Doomsday was "what would happen if someone actually killed the great icon, Superman?" If there is no Superman, there is no need for Doomsday. Now all Doomsday is some creature beating up a dude. Really misses the point in my opinion. I'll probably keep watching it next year and hopefully we can see more of Doomsday instead of slight glimpses of him. The one real positive thing I have to say about it is that I was impressed that Doomsday appears to be pretty consistent with the source material in appearance.
