First of all, I never said Human Torch was a remold of Iron Man. Secondly, if you look at the transformation scheme of Cap, IMO it looks like they used the base mold for wolverine and made a few changes (notably the roof, wheels, and the shield.)

I'm not trying to be rabid about this I'm just slightly annoyed at the lack of new molding for such a line, especially when some of these characters (Cap and Carnage) deserve much more than just a re-paint.

 

I'll definitely be picking up Thor and Cappy. Don't really care for War Machine, but I am debating on getting Venom or Carnage.

Sorry, but Carnage is basically a "repaint" of Venom. Sure, vastly different characterizations and slightly different builds (Carnage more slender and Venom more bulky), but basically the same thing, which is an evil version of Spider-Man.

Honestly, I'm happy they didn't simply do a head-swap on the Black Spidey recolor and called it "Venom."

 

Yeah, we already saw Carnage and War Machine, and I think Thor. Cap I'm not so sure about. I definitely don't remember seeing his 'bot mode atleast.

I said it then, and I'll say it again, that's a pathetic attempt at War Machine. He's Black and Silver, not this silver and gold thing we're seeing. I'm passing on it out of protest. Do it right or don't even bother to do it.

 

I'm thinking, that they're thinking: "Sell these Marvel Crossover toys, so that we can have more funds to make more AWSOME  : mainline Transformers!"

I can't argue with THAT thinking!  

BTW does anyone remember WAAY back? "Day's of Future's Past"? (classic Claremont era X-Men story) A future when not only had the Sentinels captured all the mutants, but began considering ALL meta-humans a threat. And if they killed that hero, they were painted in his colors.

It's a few repaints, but that's cool. It's Transformers, and it's Hasbro we're talking about here. If the line survives, we could easily see a Iron-Spider/ Scarlet Spider/Spidey 2099 motorcycle, a US Agent hummer, maybe a Toxin/Anti-Venom muscle car  I haven't bought any, but I think these are cool.

I'm DEFINITELY getting Cap. Finally, he can face off with Optimus and it not be in a lame crossover comic!

I wonder if the plane will be called Iron Man mk II rather than War Machine like it was originally listed. Cap looks BAD ASS.

Its gonna be a pain, but Thor is getting paint and becoming Bad Boy for my classics Gobot shelf. Wolverine might be getting made into Small Foot, have to get on in hand and see. I've got a Starscream getting made into Leader-1 and Oil Slick will be my Cy-kill. The Gobots return 

 

This is actually not the first images of these toys, but maybe for this site. Anyways, Cappy looks great. As does Thor. Those two might be the first of this line that I buy.

I don't really mind repaints with this series. So far they have kept it to characters that actually have alternate costumes. Heck, I may grab a 3rd hulk and repaint him red. Now if they come out with a Captain America in red white and black and call him US Agent, that'll be pushing it.

 

I too misunderstood regarding your comments and Human Torch.

However, looking at Wolvie and Cap, I just can't in good conscience call them remolds. They are entirely new figures, with not a single part in common between them (not to mention the placement of Wolverine's wheels and hand transformation would be a giveaway). Sharing a rough transformation scheme doesn't equal a remold, (and especially not a "minor remold"), any more than Jazz is a remold of Hound! To refer to them as such is just, well, misleading and inaccurate.

In any case, Cap and Wolvie both look like great figures, and thoroughly distinct, so I can't see any room to complain there. I'm with you on the repaints except for the fact that since I'm mainly using these for kitbashing, I'll be skipping Iron Man and Hulk and going straight to their more neutral repaints.

NICE!! I love the Thor crossover the best out of all those other figures. Was Carnage just a repaint of Spider-man cuz i couldn't see it very well.  

 

I may get Cap. But I'll have to see on any others. I've passed on them all so far. None of them appeal to me that much. I think the SW ones are Ok because well they look like SW vehicles. These are the opposite idea. Instead of making the vehicle a robot, they make the marvel character a vehicle. It doesn't work as well in that direction.
