Someone did a translation of the text earlier, he comes with both his sword and gun, both light up through the led's in the hand(s).

The tray is just Grimlock's kreemzeek, I doubt I'll even take it out of the packaging.

Good call. You know, I think I'll put Kremzeek in Grimlock's jaws and give Megatron the tray.

Not much of a drop, but it's cool they did it. Here's the full email:

Hi - We just wanted to send you a quick note letting you know the price on the MP-08 has been reduced from $149.99 to $143.99. It looks like our landed price will be a bit less than we anticipated, so we are passing those savings on to you. We have adjusted the preorder price on your account and thanks so much for buying from BBTS!

    Thanks
    Joel

God I wish that was the final version. The stupid hip kibble was very stupid thing to add to the figure, and the reasoning behind changing it was even dumber.

If they do make changes to Grimlock I hope they don't make stupid changes like they did to Starscream.

Same here. I hope to get those two some day so my Seeker team is complete. But with MP Grimlock, Animated, and Classics coming out en mass I don't know when I'll have the money for them. Sigh.

I'm probably in a minority here, but I'd rather Grimlock didn't have any die-cast other than for reinforcement. Paint doesn't adhere to metal as well as it does to plastic, so chipping is likely; the additional weight causes stress to joints; and if Takara uses die-cast in his robot mode's upper half it's going to limit posing.

I feel the same way, I love the metal for its weight and how it feels, but the poroblems with paint applications and stress are ioften a problem.

Some better scans of Dinobot and Hot Rod
Archonia.com, Your favourite manga and anime store: * Transformers Classics/Henkei Action Figure - C16 Dinobot
Archonia.com, Your favourite manga and anime store: * Transformers Classics/Henkei Action Figure - C17 Hotroad

Dinobot is definately an unpainted test shot and seems to be transformed with his robot arms pointing forward in beast mode, just like in the Club Magazine pics.
I really hope you can fold them backwards so they don't stand out as much.
Other than that they both look like amazing figures!

In Micron Legend (The Japanese version of Armada) Hot Shot was called Hot Rod.
It looks like he'll be called that in the Henkei line as well. Assuming Hotroad is a typo that is..

Is this Dinobot figure suppose to be more show accurate to the BW dinobot on the tv show?? Or is this a new character? Judging from that pic I think they could of done alot better. In robot mode, the robot arms look pretty chinsy and similar to the cheap generic dinosaur transformer figures that are floating out there. Anybody else agree?? Hopefully they change it up and make it more show accurate to the BW dinobot. Just my opinion though.

Have you seen the original toy?

This is FAR more show-accurate than the original. Better head, the legs are more clever, the arms better-proportioned along with the body...

It doesn't transform the same, but I think it is considerably better than the original.

That's because he IS better than the original!

Of course his weapon is kinda scaring me, the red looks like a firing projectile instead of a sword.:(

I agree its better than the original BW Dinobot figure, but it is definitely lacking in the show accurateness. I also find the dinobot tail to look stupid in beast mode. Towards the end of the tail its like split. To me it looks like the Bw mutant raptor/wolverine figure with its tail like that. I do agree it is better than the original bw dinobot figure though!

...Is it wrong that I want that Hot Shot...? I'm sorry, I had the original and I crave a decent looking, not-totally-gay one.

Nothing wrong with that. I too want to buy him and his little helicopter buddy. Now if you had said you think the original is far superior to the new one, than there might have been something wrong with you, lol. On a side note, I really hope there are some new mold RID homages that aren't RH figures (yeah, I've said it a million times before, but I'm still going to continue saying it).

Well, maybe we'll get some. I'd like a few too myself... and, as clever as Scourge into Bruticus is... I could care less about a character that wasn't even really part of the show. I think at the very least they should make new molds for the Car Bros. (considering that their molds were literally used to death) and they could stand to be less 'shell-formery' as well.

I agree about the Scourge repaint, but I still plan on getting it. The RID homage combined with me not owning the mold yet, is the major reason behind that (along with him looking cool to me in those colors). The Care Brothers would be great candidates for updates imo. Their molds, while ok, had a good amount of flaws to them. I'd settle for retools/repaints of existing molds though, if we couldn't get new molds. Turn the Sunstreaker mold into Prowl, the Rodimus mold into Sideburn, and the Ironhide mold into X-brawn (call him Brawn if need be). New molds would be even more awesome, but the homage alone would get me to buy them. Scourge and Megs could use updates too. Basically giving them more articulation, more detail, getting rid of Scourge's trailer, and giving Megs one, maybe two of his alt-modes. Would be interesting to see the Energon Constructicons repainted, and maybe even slightly retooled, into the RID Landfill (basically a Rainbow Devastator). Hmmm...that gives me an idea. If I can get ahold of a set of those guys for a decent price, that would be a great kitbash idea.
