Seriously? A utility bucket truck? How would a truck the electric or cable companies use be good as "Soundwave's" alt mode? It has nothing to do with sound or spying at all and there is no place to store minions. Maybe Soundwave will steal cable for Megatron so he can see all his favorite shows for free.:dj :dunce :lol

Soundwave should be a monster truck with huge ass speakers in the back. [IMG]

And he better have the same or similar robotic G1 voice.

None. I'm a student and don't have a job. None of my money is mine, It all belongs to Sallie Mae.

However, if any of the news I apposed is true, I would publicly apologize for questioning the all knowing TFW. That is, if starting thread where members could ridicule me, wasn't considered being a troll.

So what do you think of those terms? any want to throw digital tomatoes at me?

Fine then, if the info turns out to be correct, then you should spend a month of Saturdays volunteering in a homeless soup kitchen or something. Since you're so sure you're right, this should be a safe bet, no?

how much money is TFW going to give me if they are wrong? how about TFW put thier money where thier mouth is...they are the ones claiming to have an insider who is reliable, all we are doing is taking thier word for it with no realy reason to other than having faith that they wouldnt lie to us....so wheres the site owner? or whoever it is that gets the information sent to them..are they willing to put up money?

    I highly doubt it

Lets get one thing straight. I'm not sure I'm right. I don't know where that notion came from, but I'm not trying to portray any since of "I'm right and you are wrong." what I am doing is expressing my doubt that this "insider" knows what the heck he is talking about, and my distain for TFW to post things as honest to God truth, when it comes from some shady insider that I, or anyone else, has no idea what his connection is with the film.

I've given several good reasons why not to fully trust this guy:
    1. We were told by Bay to expect misinformation and we have gotten none (that is if this guy is right)
    2. No officials are reacting to this news in any way.
    3. There has been no images to back up the claims. (except for the megatron tank)
    4. This info is coming to us easier than it did for the first film.

Yet when I ask why I should trust him, all I get is:

    1. What TFW says goes.
    2. this is the same insider from the last film.
    3. quit trolling.

I'm not saying this guy is wrong. for all I know the "insider" could be Bay himself (which oddly enough would support my theory for it being false). All I am saying is, if it doesn't come from an official source it should automatically be a rumor. Rumors can be true.

as for some kind of bet, I have no idea what kind of situation I will be in by Summer 09. the way the economy is going, I may be living in a box, so even the promise of publicly apologizing is a little more than I can really promise.

    I loled! :lol

What's wrong with Frenzy? He was the third best cybertronian character from the first movie.

    :lol

    Thank you.

Man, if those are your rushed scribbles, I can't wait to see what you don't consider rushed. Looked pretty badass to me. :D

I think it's a cool idea, but dare I say it does look too G1 to be in ROTF?

While I agree that you have a right to be suspicious (I'm not banking on anything the insider says as being 100% legitimate until we have something more concrete - be it leaked concept art, set photos, toys, etc.), it is worth considering two things:

    1) TFW is putting ALOT on the line by claiming this information is correct. Their reptutation is at stake here so I doubt they'd be making such concrete claims unless they were 100% positive that their source was legit. Not saying that their source couldn't be spreading misinformation but they still have to sincerely trust this person.

    2) The staff here have a lot of connections to the folks at Hasbro including Aaron Archer himself. It's my guess that whoever is supplying them this information is someone at Hasbro who is showing them toy samples, designs, etc. Naturally, they couldn't talk about it with any more specifics than, say, "We trust this source. He/she/they have been proven right before," because if they did someone at Hasbro could get in serious trouble for leaking information before it was supposed to be officially revealed.

That's my take on the whole "TFW Insider" situation. Like I stated earlier, it's still possible this information could be incorrect (whether deliberately or not) but I think there's more than enough reason to trust it until proven otherwise.

As for Soundwave's alt mode, I'm expecting an Ironhide-style blue civilian pickup tricked out with some kind of sound system. Basically, Animated Soundwave without the silly Scion mode.

what reputation? TFW isnt a news site....sure they put up news to spread word to its members but TFW is a message board...them posting up false information wouldnt tarnish any sort of reputation since people dont come here for just the TF movie news...and if someone does come here for just that, then what does TFW really care if thier info is wrong and those members dont ever come back..they were only here for movie info anyways and never planned on being full fledged members of the community...

there is also the option of them just getting a PM/Email from someone claiming to be someone they are not...we have no reason to believe the information is correct, believing in the info first with out questioning it is backwards logic....you dont trust something untill it proves itself to be fake, you should always be skepticle and looking for an answer that may be different, if we all just accepted what was told to us untill we had reason to not believe in it anymore we would still be worshipping zues....

thats my take on the situation anyways, we really have no reason to trust thier source, they should at least tell us the position this source claims to hold, for all we know the source could be a security gaurd on set....

for the record though i dont think everything we are getting is false info, im just saying that there really is no reason for me to believe in it other than me wanting to believe in it...if that makes sense

Personally, faith in the mods knowing what they are posting about is why I trust them and their insider. That and from what I currently know, their insider has, in the past, provided info that turned out to be true. Honestly, even if this info proves to be false, it really won't change my opinion of the mods and their insider.

You've never cared about your own personal reputation, your own personal integrity? My point being that even if the site as a whole comes out of the situation just fine there are a lot of people who wouldn't want to have their own personal reputations tarnished and would probably be apprehensive about posting rumors as absolute fact... unless they seriously trusted the source.

The mods also have connections from Hasbro that I'm sure they don't want to jeopardize. Just look at the new Hasbro Q&A thread. Maybe receiving and spreading false info as fact wouldn't harm those relationships, maybe they would. But if this info were to turn out false it might be along time before anyone would take TFW-exclusive Hasbro Q&As (or anything related) seriously. If I was in charge I wouldn't take the chance in what seems to be an incredibly cavalier way unless was absolutely sure I wasn't posting lies.

If you read my post again, I stated right off the bat that I'm not 100% accepting of the info without supporting proof, but was presenting reasons why TFW would trust their insider and why I'm not ready to jump on the "they're lying/it's Bay-misinformation bandwagon either." I doubt, with the amount of info they'd been posting as fact without corroborating evidence, that they'd continue to post it unless their source was somebody in Hasbro/Paramount/Dreamworks who they trust.

On that note, what myself and I think most of the posters on this forum are saying is, you have to take the information with a grain of salt but there's no reason to be bandying about that it's all a lie/misinformation as there's plenty of reason to suggest it might be true. We have been examining the information and the circumstances and reached this conclusion. Among the majority, there is no worshipping of anything or anyone.

Most kind. Taking an ink pen to the pencil scribbles is what tidied it up some from my original feverish scrawl. :)
Yeah, I put my hands up to that. Mostly I just wanted the wings for their panel shapes for the satellite and the flatbed cover (which was what gave me the idea to begin with), but I needed to fill the other details with something and elements of the old G1 look were quickest to throw in without having to 'Bay' anything up too much.

Yeah yeah I know. I was referring to people feeding the fire with the subject matter. This thread went from talking about Soundwave's alt modes in the new movie to people going back and fourth over the credibility of information coming to the site. Start a new thread titled Transformers Information Credibility or something if you want to argue about it and stick to talking about Soundwave on this one. :hijacked: :horse:

I would dare say that a significant (possibly the majority?) of "unique" visits for TFW2005 are from non members (or non active members) who pretty much only visit the front page and/or the news forum. This site is basically the #1 place for TF news on the internet and I'm sure that remaining credible is important to the staff (and also their ad revenue).
