On a side note, I'm a little unhappy to see that this Venezuelan promotion is running concurrently with one for Powerpuff Girls Z, mostly because it means that that abomination of a series has somehow escaped its native Japan and is now being inflicted upon the world at large, instead of being rightfully brushed under the carpet as an unfortunate footnote to [lugnut]the GLORIOUS Powerpuff legacy[/lugnut]. First Kiss Players, then this: curse you, Japan! :mad

Ahem...as to the toys themselves, they're...uh, interesting. Like Omegus Prime said, a little reminiscent of Twin Twist and the like, but with the difference being that these figures make no sense whatsoever. I don't even want to know what Optimus is supposed to be doing to himself in that "alt-mode" pic...

Powerpuff Girls Z was premiered here (and the rest of Latin America via Cartoon Network LA) about one or two months ago. I'm actually surprised by the promotion ... it seems too soon.

IIRC it's shown on Saturdays right after Legion of Superheroes, Transformers Animated and Ben 10, and before Pokemon. :p

In some respects I felt the US Animated McToys were TOO good, in fact we got them all and I'm finding myself not wanting to buy any REAL animated toys? is that heresy? Did Has shoot themselves in the foot?

I mean... usually the McFormers we got in the past were cheap and fell apart, but these (in the US) are really good this time!

The Starscream toy from US McD's was ass. The Bumblebee was alright though.

happy meal toys have been crappy in the US for a while now, trust me, I have a 7 yr old daughter who insists on happy meals once in a while. 20 years ago, they'd do action figures almost at par with the retail figures.

As G1Wheeljack established, we've seen a "Jumpstarter" Happy Meal toy before (Armada Starscream). That one actually worked better than the original Jumpstarters (i.e., it consistently lands on its feet when using its gimmick). And it definitely made a better effort at an alt-mode than that Prime we're seeing in the picture.

Still... I find myself strangely drawn by them. If they were offered here in the states, I'd definitely buy a Happy Meal for one.

Buying on eBay and paying for international shipping? Definitely not....

You know what would be crazy, if they actually put toys in these things that were actually cool. Maybe not deluxes but why not the mini bots?

    Oh, didn't know that.

I just searched TFW's News section. Figured it was the same as searching the News & Rumors forums.

Is not surprising this is a Latin America promotion (perhaps more countries as well), as Venezuela's market is very small.

However, it seems from Seibertron's news post that the toys haven't been released in Mexico as that one pic was taken from a TV. That does surprise me ... I would've guessed Mexico, Brazil or Argentina would get the promotion first.

So anyway ... my pics are better. :p

Speaking of pics, I uploaded better pics (as promised). They're in my photobucket account. I also added a comparison pic with 2-Pack Battle Damaged Optimus Prime and Activators Optimus Prime, as well as copyright information on the back of the figure.

(Sorry for the glare on some of the pics)

    And ZOMG!!!!10101101 video review:

(Ok, I kid. :p  Just a little vid showing the Jumpstarting Transformation with very poor lighting. How do video reviewers shoot their clips with proper lighting???)

P.S.: I edited the first post to add the new pics as well.

BWAHAHAHAHA! Every time I look at your pic of Prime's "alt mode", I burst into uncontrollable laughter.

OK, now I'm laughing while THINKING about the picture. *snrk*

When I saw the bot mode pics in the other thread, I thought the toys MIGHT have some details that look like their actual alt modes on the backs of their legs. Obviously not.

I still want them, though. :redface2:

That's... an interesting "alt mode" you've got there, Optimus Prime. [IMG]

They're so ridiculous that I MUST find a way to purchase one of these.

All the figures are so super fat. I know there is a joke in there somewhere:

Megatron: Munch Munch. The McAllspark is delicious and its all mine! bwaa ha ha *munch munch*

starscream: Wait oh supreme leader you can't eat the mcallspark all at once!

Megatron: Why am I going to explode? Ha Ha.

starscream: No it will go straight to your thighs....

Megatron: wha... what? (converted to fat megatron)

    Starscream:....and then you'll explode

    *Megatron explodes*

Starscream: Megatron has fallen and I starscream am..... very hungry.

Because mini-bots cost several orders of magnitude more than the toys made for Happy Meal boxes?

(that wasn't really a question. It's the real and obvious answer)

They are Jumpstarters, so we could name them Twin Chin and Fat Spin.
