I really don't understand how so many intelligent members would think this is the final painted product when we've already SEEN pictures of it fully painted, and none of them looking like this...

The fandom really does love to bitch, don't they...

Even though we now know this is pretty much the final deco for him and Nighstick, I still think this particular one is still a bit of a prototype. Looks like they had a bit of trouble getting the purple's to match, and on the official pictures we now have, though they are small, you can see that the purples should match on the final product. Though this does appear to show us where his head goes in jet-mode, though that could just be another piece of him that has the mismatched purple painted onto it. There are really only two things that I would change about these guys. I would make the tan colors match, instead of one being darker than the other, and I would have kept Nightstick the combination of black and purple that we first saw him in. Really just minor gripes though. They still look like great figures.

I don't know, maybe we should just try letting him figure it out,

Anyway, Cycllonus really doesn't look that bad. The white on the nosecone really does help break up the color scheme rather than having the whole jet be purple. I would have liked Nightstick to have gotten somebetter coloring but he's the minicon/Targetmaster so it doesn't bother me. This guy and Hound are both definite pick-ups in my book.

    I did see that.

It seems stupid to me we would see earlier photos with accurate colors, and have them replaced with what these photos give us, especially when the ones that started this thread look like testshots.

What we saw earlier were Photoshop-doctored photos of a paint master figure. Hasbro loves to do this. I also collect D&D miniatures (produced by Wizards of the Coast, a subsidiary of Hasbro) and a couple of years back the discrepancy between paint masters and production figures became so huge that there was a large outroar from the community (with hints of a class-action lawsuit due to the large discrepancy between advertised and sold products). As a result, Wizards of the Coast now no longer show photos of paint masters in their advertising for D&D miniatures; they only show the finished stuff.

    Hasbro,

    That's a cracker-jack move. Don't be dicks.

    Love,

I'm just going to quote Split Lip's post, because it covers all my thoughts on the matter at hand:

Lol, I play D&D Minis too, and I was thinking the exact same thing. The Wardrums set fiasco. But D&D Minis are blind packed, so would the same argument hold? Granted you are only able to verify the differences in the alt mode (or in the rare instance the Robot mode) when the item is in package.

Both Hound & Cyclonus say "Generation 1 Series"... I have a feeling they're not using "Classic Series" in the 25th anniversary line. Just calling them G1 or whatever...

MAN did they bone that deco.

Hound looks so epic though, i hadn't noticed how his dashboard swivels 180° to form his abs before.

Still waiting to see Henkei for both of these before i make a decision.

Master Sing must wonder how difficult it may be to actually make the colors match the G-1 original... The Hasbro verison will still end up in my possesion, but I hope the Henkei version has a color scheme more true to the OG... but then again, they'll probably over-do it on the chrome...

Ah well. The US paint looks like garbage. But I'll be buying both this and the Henkei due to my love for the character. I figure the Japanese one will be my Cyclonus and the American one can be his "Armada." Heh.

so i guess the bottomline is that out of the two photos we've seen, one photoshopped and one real,we the consumers are naturally gonna end up with the one that looks like ass. great job once again hasbro:thumbs2: . is it a hasbro prerequisite that you must be color blind to work there? i mean it's everytime with these guys. it's like they're slogan is,"don't worry the henkei line will fix it". lets make powerglide white, how about giving ironhide a blue face, etc. truly mindboggling sometimes.
