Please no. TFs not part of combiner teams do not need to combine. No no no no. >.< I thought we got this our of our systems with SuperLink and such.
I hate to admit the more I hear about this movie the less I want to see it.

 

They're really doing their best to make this movie suck, aren't they?

 

I think this is awesome. Can't wait to see how it plays out, if it plays out. If it's toy only, I'd be fine with that too.

Honestly the idea of optimus combining with another was pretty lame in armada. ( never like that show much )

I just find it funny people are coming out of the wood work to voice displeasure.
Do I get to call all you whiny little transformers fans like people do to me an others when we complain about certain other directions the movie is going? It would be only fair  

Love combiners they rock but Optimus combining with anyone has always been cheezy to me and a last ditch effort to make up for bad writing and lack of appeal due to it( in the SHOW not the MOVIE)

 

Ok, first of all, let me tell you that I really don't like this idea AT ALL. Prime combining with Jetfire? Oh man, people are gonna laugh their pants off. IF this is true, then what is the purpose of those two combining? Transportation methods?? Damn, this is weird.

 

So by having to combine optimus they esentially said he's freaking weak. Or this is the deux ex machina needed to beat devastator/the fallen/megatron. This is the wrong kind of nod to do. What's next? Mini-cons built the pyramids?

 

It's got nothing to do with what people think of combining, it is entirely because it wasn't in G1. I didn't see anybody up in arms about Devastator being in this movie, untill it was announced that there may be 5 or 7 bots involved.

 

Eh, it could work...Prime and Jetfire face off against the Fallen or Devastator, get their asses kicked, and then one of the two decides to combine their forces, á la Devastator and Arcee. Jetfire just has to open a few panels and shift apart parts, Optimus goes in, Jetfire closes back up (partially at least) and you got a mech that has the power, experience and skill of both Prime and Jetfire.

And hey, the movie already has the icecream truck twins, possibly Arcee and the Constructicons...

 

But Prime has been combining with things since before G1.
Powered Convoy anyone?

Then there was Powermaster Optimus Prime. Which was three robots and a trailer.(unless you don't use Godbomber/Apex armor.)

Combining

I think this could be a toy-only gimmick; look at the way Voyager Blackout and Deluxe Scorponok from the first movie combined - they certainly didn't do THAT in the film!

 

I don't like the idea of Prime and Jetfire. It cheapens the idea of combiners.

It's okay for a cartoon, but not a "real" movie... Up to this point, I've been pretty happy with everything else I've heard about ROTF.

This is, I guess. Both my answer to the scale question (though its more reasonable to assume Prime becomes the chest and Jetfire forms everything else) and if combination is awesome enough.

Because its pretty DAMN awesome. I, for one wellcome GATTAI into TF:ROTF with open arms.

 

Sam will use his Allspark powers to merge Prime and Jetfire.

Then again, I'm sure they could just reformat together in any way they liked, merged without any part of the final whole looking like it came from either one of them. Actually, that's how I envision Devastator (or whatever he'll be called) combining - a mass of reformatting parts that end up looking nothing like the component robots it was made from.
And no need for him to un-combine later because he'll probably be destroyed very quickly (also by Sam's new Allspark powers).

 

Only one combiner will accept : Devastator( though Bruticus and Superion could come in future sequels ,but seems on this one we get Devastator) !!! Through out the last 2 of the 4 TFs anime show (shown in the U.S.) Prime combines with other bots or power ups and I'm sick of it !! Don't like the idea and I hope I don't see it through out the movie.
