The thing I'm waiting for the most? I want to see if the Henkei Prowl is better quality than the godawful USA release... The fact that Sunstreaker looks so hot gives me a little hope.

If they've fixed the whole sloppy/milky/translucent/mismatched paint apps on Prowl, I'll definitely add the Henkei version to my next order.

What's the word on that, Solitudinal?  

 

I'm opening Prowl now as we speak. It's 1:30am here and I'm dead-tired but I'm gonna open Prowl and take pics anyway because I love you guys so much.  

 

Glad I didn't get the US version of Sunstreaker! My distaste for police works against any motivation that I may have had to get either version of Prowl... and yes he does look like a girl on the box-art of the Japanese version; he got some tig 'ol bitties!

Sunstreaker looks particularly good, much prefer the matching yellow, and a slightly darker shade than the Hasbro version. And i'm still hugely impressed with the articulation, in either version.

Waiting to see what Takara's Sideswipe looks like... I prefer Sunstreaker's bot mode chest, but Sideswipe's colour. So, of course, i'll be able to mistransform him to match what i want. Yay for me.

 

Quick pics of Henkei Prowl! Again, apologies for slight grain and poor light. And I'm sure everyone is dying to know: NO MORE smudgy paint! The paint app on mine is PERFECT. I decided to whing it and run my thumb through his door a few times, and the paint stayed. Overall the figure has a very smooth finish. He does feel a little bit "greasy" but it could be the gloss. <3 Prowl. Will talk more about him in the feedback section.

Prowl looks great, but the chrome on his spoiler is too much. Damn I can't believe I am saying I wish it had less chrome, but I am.

 

Hey, cool. Card art! Can't wait to get them! Also, I wish they would've painted the tail pipes at least gray or something. Matching bumper-black isn't cool.

 

That's really nice card art. I kinda wish they did that with earlier releases in the Henkei Transformers line.

OKay I love sunstreaker as much as Ratchet, Ironhide, and Astrotrain in henkei, but that prowl is a complete mismatch of awesome to crap.

New light bar = awesome
Chrome Launchers = awesome
Chrome Gun = awesome

Chrome Spoilers = lame for prowl
They should have found a way to mold the spoiler off completely, then chrome it on silverstreak instead. Ah well, that kind kills it for me on henkei Prowl.

 

I think the spoiler on Henkei Silverstreak is chrome, as well.

 

Nice, Henkeis rock!! Lol, my uncle gives me the classic non-henkeis once he gets the henkei himself so ill probably get this once he gets his.  

 

Sunstreaker's spoiler being chrome works for me. It was chrome in the G1 toon/toy and sets it apart from sideswipe more. Prowl never even had a spoiler on his original toy let alone toon, so it being there I can tolerate, but it being chrome and flashy just looks tacky as opposed to sunstreaker. Prowl's spoiler should have been retooled down some or made as easily removable. That way silverstreak and Smokescreen could still have it, potentially chrome. Though that'd only look good chromed on Silverstreak as opposed to smokescreen.

 

The packaging is great. It reminds me of graffiti artwork.

 

Call me Tracks, but that box art of Prowl looks bizzarely attractive.   After countless pictures of gurning, manly bots, it's refreshing to see a somewhat effeminate take on a popular character. I'm eager to see what Takara will deliver for Bluestreak. Yes, Bluestreak. Not Silverstreak.
