So... if its anything like Transformers i can expect to see a 2 hour movie of boringness with maybe a cameo appearance by Jason at the end? and even then it will be a beaver that kills him... I'm just going by the way Transformers 1 was... with the very low bot screentime and the fact that sam killed Megatron at the end.

The camera is going to pan around Jason 360 degree style at least twice in the movie.
    Oh and wrong forum.

Michael Bay is not the director. Marcus Nispel is the director. He directed the Texas Chainsaw remake. Reports from people who have visited the set have been extremely positive. The story is a condensing of the first 3 movies, and has Jason more grounded in reality. I'm actually quite looking forward to it.

The film's been shooting around Austin for a few months now. They may even be finished, I haven't heard anything in awhile. This Jason is supposed to be more Rambo-like, being an outdoorsman and a survivalist, and less of a zombie. He even runs after his victims instead of just slowly walking behind them. I have my doubts about this movie, but we'll see.

I saw this and thought.... "Bay-Haters This a-way..." :lol

Michael Bay was the producer for TTCMR and that turned out great, so I'm not worried about his name being attatched to the remake of Friday the 13th in the least. I'm more worried about the lead stars: Jared Padalecki and Amanda Righetti. Not the greatest actors there... seriously.

Does anybody know if Kane Hodder will be playing Jason at any point in the movie?

I was surprised when I first heard about Bay doing the Friday 13th remake. I know he was the producer of The Amityville Horror remake.

Most porn movies have better acting, story and plot than Jason X.

Taken as a whole, the series itself is pretty awful. Sure there are some individual entries that were fun, but when you try to put them all together, there is little to no cohesiveness with enough plot holes to fill the grand canyon. This is one reason why I welcome a complete reboot, though interviews with Nispel seem to indicate they aren't aiming for a franchise, but a stand-alone film.

Well I'm kinda looking forward to see this remake of Friday the 13th. I've been a fan of it mostly because Jason V is a badass even though he made a cameo at the end at the first movie, but not the killer (his mom was), but part 3 we see him with his famous hockey mask and well the rest is history. So I can hardly wait.

As people have said, Bay is only producing and Marcus Nispel is directing, same as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake from 03, which was done well.

Let's face it, The F13 series NEEDS to be rebooted, just as TTCM did. Jason has been a joke since part 6, a parody of himself. I love the series, I'm a huge fan of these films, I've met many of the actors who played Jason (including Derek Mears last month), but I know that the films have been complete shlock since the 3rd installment. The first one to feature the hockey mask, actually.

I'm not saying I don't enjoy all of the over the top ones...one of my favorites is the incredibly silly part 5, with the "Fake Jason". But I want to see Jason done serious and scary again. Remember Jason in Part 2, with the bag on his head? That's about the absolute creepiest he has ever been.

I actually play a variation on sack-head Jason at "The Bates Motel" outside of Philadelphia...3rd highest ranked scare attraction in the USA! I am a huge fan of Jason, simply put.

I'm looking forward to this too. And I agree with everything Joe's said about it.
Mospeda - is that the actual "Bates Motel", i.e. where they filmed Psycho?
