Well, I am finally snagging a upgrade and its been forever since I've boughten a video card, and wanting some advice. I've been ATi forever but well, think I'm courting the Nvidia side now. It will be a PCI-E(1.0/regular)16x hopefully 512mb but having trouble figuring out what brand would be good quality without being too overly costly. Appreciate the input.
Both are good...my current computer (its a older computer so it uses AGP) has a ATi Radeon in it. When i build my new computer (its gonna be either a Core 2 Duo or a Core 2 Quad), i plan on putting a nVIdia (most likely dual SLi). as for which card, what do you plan on doing with it....gaming, pictures, watching TV/DVD/BR...etc?
Well wanting a good gaming card that won't break the bank either. Thinking of trying to find a mid-high range Nvidia this time around since I've been loyal to ATi but heard the nvidia side is greener lol. Thinking i might try and scrape up a tiny bit more, found a PNY GeForce 8800 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI-E with SLI I think might be a better investment than some of the slightly cheaper ones.
you could always try a 8800gts by either evga or bfg, zotac seem to be a good brand as well. Just remember to get a g92 core and look into some aftermarket cooling, like the duo orb.
