Found Universe Onslaught and Powerglide in Smyths city centre. Mono-lingual, has the safety lion on it, but has US instructions, so I'm not sure what's going on here. They were really cheap too. They rung up as €28 each, but the price tags said €23, so I got them for that. That's a lot cheaper than the standard €40 for ultras, and cheaper even than the price for Voaygers.

I can put up pics in a while.

I also got Onslaught at Smyths Jervis St today. I think it's a mistake. I kept my mouth shut. Sooner or later they're going to fix it, so get em while you can.

Note how she did the receipt.

The annoying thing is I had just picked up Powerglide in an Argos when I was north of the border on monday. I figured with the exchange rate I was getting a good deal(the argos.ie price is €36.99)

Yeah, my receipt was the same, only the scan price was different to yours. Weird.

I've fiddled with both now, and they're both pretty cool. Nicely complex, but not overly so. Question, though, Onslaught's siren? Is it supposed to just sound once, or should it continue? The machine gun sound continues.

The siren on mine is the same. It'd be great if you could hold it down, but no luck there. I could hold down the machine gun sound for ever though, it's kind of addictive.

I was vaguely disappointed by Onslaught. I dunno why, It's a pretty solid figure, and it does look as good as in the pictures. Can't put my finger on it... maybe I was just looking forward to it too much.

And for the size of the box, the vehicle is quite small. Not much bigger than Voyager Bulkhead in vehicle mode. I actually feel like you get more with voyager Bulkhead. The way that toy was thought out is pretty clever. Onslaught's transformation is dull and straightforward in comparison.

Oh well, Onslaught isn't clever that way, but he does display well. And at least I got a good deal.

HMMMN. I wonder if that mistake will make it through to the North before getting corrected? I wonder what the sterling price would be? Because I bought mine in Argos last week, but hell, if I was going to be able to get it for, like, £15 or something from Smyths, I would return that mother in a second. Must check on the way into work tomorrow morning.

According to the Smyth's website, they're supposed to sell at €32.99, so it looks like the price was wrong after all. It's probably not likely that they'd make the same mistake in other stores, but you might as well check it out if you have time.

As of 10:55 this morning, the boxes are still marked 22.99.

As with Cradok's receipt, mine has a 2.00 discount on it... even with the 2.00 included that's still only 24.99.

Didn't see anything specifically mentioning them as being on promotion. So, my best guess is that it *is* a pricing error, but i'm curious to see if they're priced at 22.99, or GBP equivalent in other branches.

So, anyone found them for that price in a branch other than Jervis St?

Hey thats pretty cool, I'm glad they are getting around but I wonder how they are dealing with the mass demand for these.

Found 'em in Smyths oop Naarth today, but they were standard £24.99, alas. Although I did realise from looking at them that the Onslaught I got from Argos is missing the piece of orange translucent plastic that forms the spotlight on his turret, so I might return that and buy a new one now...

Guess we can partially put it down to someone forgetting the change Stirling to euro then. Still not sure where the extra 2.00 euro discount at the till comes from though.

Since it's all but confirmed as a pricing error if anyone reading this is on the fence, you might want to get moving.

Smyths had them priced at €26.99 when I popped by today. They all looked like they'd been pretty hastily restickered. Also noticed the Activators, dunno how long they've been out.

I still haven't seen one of these yet.

The only Universe Ultra I've seen is a single Powerglide figure. Which I passed on. Without regret.

I would like to see Onslaught and Silverbolt though.

You lucky devils, these cost about €28.70 over in Singapore! :(

Somehow, Hasbro marked down the prices for Ultras in Classics/Universe collection, it used to cost €31.07 to get Cybertron Jetfire or Defense Red Alert.

It was a pricing error. Probably something to with the prices not being converted properly from GBP. since Hasbro UK supplies stock to the Irish market.

On top of which they weren't on the shelves this morning, so the odds are the pricing error is in the process of being fixed.

As long as they appear here, I really don´t care if they cost 23 or 32 euros...

Wow, I picked Onslaught up last week - thought he seemed like an unusually good deal for once. And it was just a mistake all along? Shame.

He's great though. Chunky and imposing. Glad I snapped him up when i did.
