I figure we'll see SS too, and other than that, I'd love a remold into jazz if at all possible. If not, I'll have to make one myself from it hehehe (I don't see us getting a unique mold Jazz)

 

I got Prowl on sunday, and I wish I hadn't.

Positives:
1. is articulated well.
2. has good proportions.
3. and simply looks...right.

Negatives:
1. car mode doesn't fit together well.
2. sloppy paint applications & paint that smears off.
3. bits of untrimmed plastic flash here and there.

Usually I don't mind a occasional problem, but hasbro Prowl seems lazily done.

The paint problems are the worst part. I thought I found one without the infamous slimy doors, and I suppose I did because, it's not the doors that are the problem it's the sides of his hood.

I don't really have the money to spend on the takara/tomy versions, & I don't really like the hideous chrome on those figures, but I may just end up getting that version of prowl if it doesn't have the same problems.

It's a shame Prowl turned out so badly, before I noticed the glaring errors he was my favorite universe/classics 2.0 figure.

 

Really the only downside to the mold is the gigantic neck area, but otherwise it's awesome. Nice and poseable. I didn't have any problem with the paint smudging on mine. The Henkei version's chrome shoulder launchers are nice, but not enough to make me get it. I can't wait for Bluestreak and really hope Smokescreen comes along eventually. Sol's Barricade repaint idea would be awesome too, I'd totally buy it.

 

Did you transform him right? Mine fits together perfectly in car mode. I think it's actually a very good transformation. As for sloppy paint, always inspect them before buying. I know you can't always see all the paint apps, but it usually helps a lot. As far as the sticky paint problem goes, I haven't had that on mine so I can't really say anything about that. Though I think someone on here mentioned that the next wave of Universe Prowls seem to have the whole paint issue fixed with some nicer paint. So maybe the best thing for everyone who hasn't gotten him yet, or wants to replace him, is to wait for those ones to hit shelves.

 

OK, I could not resist...

I was in Argos yesterday and gave in! I purchased Prowl and am happy with it. It's not perfect but then no Transformer is. I was more worried about things like paint apps and so on but all seems to be fine. Thank you all for your advice I will put a few pics up later to show you Prowl with some of my other classics. BTW speaking of other characters from this mold I saw a custom Jazz made from Prowl on EBAY last week and thought it was really well done. I still have a pic saved to show you all.

Id get Hasbro's but CHACK THE PAINT APS BEFORE YOU BUY oh and yes the back window will make you want a chocolate bar.

 

true, but to my knowledge, there isn't any way to check for "sticky doors" on Universe Prowl aside from opening him up.

Yeah, I've noticed on more than one occasion... someone out there is casting repros of the Shattered Glass Jazz head, and I WANT ONE.
