I got a new shirt today, and I hate it. It doesn't have a pocket on the left like my old shirt and it isn't as expensive so it's like.....a lower rank in the pecking order of fashion. This automatically makes it terrible. UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!

We all have our own opinions, but I find it really odd that the OP hates AniPrime but likes Optimus Primal. I'm guessing they've also never read the G1 and G2 comics, where the "Great Original Optimus Prime" is anything but:

• He's decapatated and used by Shockwave, existing as only a head that Shockwave plays with and forces Prime to bring Shockwaves new bots to life. (Constructicons and Jetfire)
• He commits suicide after beating Megatron at a video game.
• He sacrifices himself while fighting Unicron
• He allows Megatron to beat the everlasting crap out of him and take the Matrix because Prime wanted to talk to Megatron.
• He gets the everlasting crap beaten out of him and his face torn off by Jhiaxus.
• He sacrifices himself and gets devoured by the Swarm.

In the cartoon series, he schizophrenically alternates between being a showboater and a moron.

• As Orion Pax, he's one of Megatrons biggest fans.
• He gets torn apart and used for parts in a city instead of asking for backup.
• He is a Basketball Hog
• He uses Skyfire as a bus, and even pats him on the nose when Skyfire saves the day like the Autobot is a dog or something.
• Despite all the resistance cells from the likes of the femmebots, he loses Cyberton totally to the Decepticons.
• He gets pwned by Laserbeak at every meeting.
• He's also big on victory on his terms. Instead of sending Cosmos, Jetfire, and a few other Autobots to deal with the Space Egg, he makes Omega Supreme deal with his issues with the Constructicons and deal with it personally.

Don't get me wrong, as a kid growing up on G1, Prime was the man, but looking back? He was really a pretty crappy leader. A good warrior and better soldier, but a crappy leader. Though, what do you really expect out of the '80's?

It's one thing to dislike Optimus Prime if he had Sentinel Primes personality, but at least have legitimate reasons to dislike him rather then the fact that he doesn't meet arbitrarilly enforced preconcieved notions.

AniPrime, IMHO, is quickly on his way to becoming my favorite Prime character, as others pointed out, Supreme Commanders shouldn't be on a battlefield, they shouldn't be wasting time engaging on a small venue, they should be more like Ultra Magnus in Animated, on the move, dealing with issues as the crop up, or Prime in the IDWverse, where he's rarely involved with anything direct, spending most of his time directing other forces across the Universe.

Oh, and since the topic has already been brought up, I thought Movie Prime is by far the worst Prime. A poor leader, a poor planner, a poor Autobot, and a poor warrior. Though, I thought it was a poor movie, so there you go.

 

Movie Prime seems to be a good warrior. He killed Bonecrusher in brutal and quick way. And olny held back in the city because of collateral damage.

As a huge G1 fan you make some great post here. Especially the Lazebeak part, lol. I couldn't stop laughing at that one. I like the Basketball Hog comment too, lol. But you hit a lot of good points. While I love G1 Prime, I feel it's easier to relate to Animated Prime. We've all dreamed of doing bigger things with our life. And Animated Prime is on his way to reaching that goal.

 

Wait, I'm confused. Does the topic starter have some sort of learning disability or mental handicap? Or is he just some kid who fails to understand why character development, struggle and originality are good things?

Maybe he doesn't speak English well, so all of his sentences come off as half-baked, ill-articulated throw away thoughts with little basis in factual points or any logic whatsoever.

Here's a tip buddy, yelling at us in sentence fragments with little care for punctuation, grammar, or overall sentence structure, is not a good way to communicate your thoughts. The entire reason this thread has dragged on so long, is because people are drawn by pure morbid curiosity to see what kind of childish, idiotic things will spew from your keyboard next. Seriously, why is this not locked yet? Surely it qualifies as flame-baiting?
