By "do the Hash", I mean have you ever participated in a Hash House Harriers event? I had never heard of it until Memorial day weekend this year but it has a long history. It all originated with some bored/crazy British dudes in Kuala Lumpur and is basically "a drinking club with a running problem". The basic idea is one person, the hare, sets a trail marked by spots of flour or something and everybody else runs following the trail wherever it goes until you get to the end where food and beer are there to consume. I've gone on a few Hash runs over the past couple months with the local group in my area. If you haven't heard of it, don't just assume there's not a group in your area. Typing the name of any major city and "hash" into google seems to always turn up a chapter. Or check out World Hash House Harriers website: World Hash House Harriers Home Page More info/history on hashing on wikipedia: Hash House Harriers - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia So, anybody else here ever heard of it or gone on hash run?
Whenever my schedule permits. More often when I was in DC, less often since going back to school. I love 'em. LOVE 'EM. I mean seriously, trail running in groups plus beer? Does it get any better.
Cool! Thought there should be at least someone else around TFW that had heard of it. Seems like a weird thing, at first, but ya, what better combination, group trail running & drinking... now it just seems like the thing to do! Though I've only done about 6 so far, so no hash name for me yet.
Ive been hashing for 6 years or so now. Its fun, but man some people dont know when to turn off their hasher persona. 6 hashes so far? You're due for a naming soon
