From What I heard when frank did the video game interview he sounded a hell of alot better than in the game. You know it can be difficult to just jump right back into some voices but if you have any more recent recordings than after the game interview I wouldn't mind hearing them

Differance here on the Ron Paul point is that really Welker has a much better shot overall. I mean just look at the odds. heh

Well with the latest voice editing technology, it's quite obvious Megatron WOULD sound better in the game.

the same technology could be used in the movie

i'd rather have him play only soundwave... but if for some reason they can't get weaving back... why not? i wasn't too impressed with weaving's work anyway. i would have preferred welker from the beggining as megatron.

Fair enough, I cant say I blame ya as the opinion seems fairly split on this topic but for myself I was decided fully after I watched the TF DVD and they did that comparison of movie megs welker versus movie megs weaving I laughed thinking that did not help their argument at all for weaving. I understood that this megs was different and I understand that welker may have seemingly lost it but that rational really wasnt the idea behind the choice. M Bay just liked Weaving better but that doesnt autmatically make him right thats just one mans choice.

If the same effects were applied to welker that they did to weaving I think Welker comes out on top as a more interesting and more sinister megs. Actually if you listen to all of weavings lines they get pretty bland the longer his scenes go on. The only cool part I liked is the initial "I AM MEGATRON " line with all the added base and effects which sounded really good but that was it for him. The rest sounded exactly like a deeper agent smith crossed with V. Just my opinion but that is my reason for dislike of Weaving it just shatters the illusion of the movie and brings you back to the reality that this is hugo weaving turning in a generic character performance.

Weaving good but Weaving Megs BAD!!!!!! :)

Sorry my line wasnt very clear I meant to say in the interview after welker was done with the game creation he did his megs voice straight up for the camera and it sounded older but awesome.

Yes I remember that, and he did sound better than in the game, he could easily do it in the film.

This is just my personal preference, but when they do a trilogy, I had always much rather not change actors in between sequels. It just pulls me back out of the illusion. Even if it's just a voice actor.

I would love to have Animated Megatron voice the movie. That voice is great. It's a shame it will never happen but Frank Welker as movie Soundwave all the way!!!!!!!

In at least one scene, I think the 2007 movie is unequivocally improved by dubbing over Welker's lines from Transformers: The Movie....

    Going back a bit, but:
They didn't pay Neeson to provide reference. Bay just wanted the animators to use Neeson as a reference for the way Prime carried himself. You don't actually have to hire the actor for that; just check out a few videos.

i know im going to get it for saying this here goes as much i like some orginal transformers voices to be in the film some just dont fit in frank welker not to much but if they where to use frank welker and change his tone and add some effects to it he could be soundwave if he talks in the sequel.

i like hugo weaving voice better it sounded more etimitating.

but i do agree frank welker could voice as another transfomrer but not movie megatron it sounded weird when i heard him in the video game version

I listened to Welker's voice on the Transformers video game and I was somewhat disappointed that his voice of Megatron was not the same as the 1980's. But on the other hand, I would not mind Welker's voice for Soundwave for TF2.

I say why not, we know that Frank Welker as Megatron in the old cartoon, so why wouldn't he do it.

Welker's voice just doesn't suit Megs anymore, but he needs to be Soundwave. The voice is so synthesised that people won't notice if it has changed anyway.

Seeing they already have Hugo Weaving in as the voice of Megatron in the movies, I'd doubt that they would have Frank Welker come in and do that voice. Sorry.
