The problem with making the vehicle mode look less random, is that in robot mode, his colors match the character to a tee. If you change that, like making the top of the vehicle blue, then he won't have his yellow boots anymore.

 

Which is why I'm worried about how good Captain America's vehicle mode will look.

 

Oh, when I meant top of the jet-mode, I was just talking about the red parts that stood out a bit, not all of it. I don't see them changing the color of the engines. Maybe add some details in silver or black, but I don't see the yellow changing for the final version.

I'm not particuarly liking Thor, and IMO Human Torch is ugly as hell. But both Carnage and War Machine are GORGEOUS!

 

Mighty Muggs Optimus is cool but we need Mighty Muggs Cosmos!!!

Wow, that's fairly ugly in vehicle mode but not as bad as it could have been.
Dig the expanding shield though, if only animated sentinel prime had gotten that treatment.

Marvel experts, do Captain America and/or Thor have any other famous/popular costumes that these could be redeco'ed into?
I'm holding out hope for some more cohesive alt modes here.  

 

Wow, the Cap looks pretty good. I might actually attempt to buy all the one's that'll be in the new Avenger movie. So far that's only Captain America, the Hulk, Ironman, and Thor. Still, that's $60 before tax right there. Anybody else know of any other characters that'll be members of the team? Cap's alt-mode is slightly odd with the colors but like Thor I think that'll be much better once we seen the final product. The expanding spare tire/shield is my favorite thing about this guy. Now that I see him, he'd make an interesting base for a Hound kitbash, though it most likely wouldn't look as good as the Hound we're getting, imo.

 

I'm not a fan of Mighty Muggs but that's pure win right there.

 

Captain America needs more white. A blue and red Humvee just does not work, though design-wise the toy is spectacular. I especially like the spare tire/shield gimmick, that was ingenious. He looks like he has a skull under that mask, though... which is appropriate, I suppose, but still...

 

Captain America looks sweet! Very patriotic. I'll have to add him to my list of must haves.

Damm, it looks sweet in robot mode. Alt mode, not so much but damm!!

 

Activator Cliffjumper got a head remold - kudos!

Shockwave/Longarm does more than I expected - also kudos

Swindle looks like a good'un

A little surprised we didn't see follow up on some items previewed in gray proto form at the Botcon presentation, such as Wreck-Gar and Universe Hot Shot.

Universe Inferno - so there WILL be at least one new-mold Voyager in Universe. Too bad he's kinda thick-lookin' in robot mode with the whole vehicle front filling out the torso. I wonder if it will be reworked as Grapple, or if I should grab one of them Movie Mudflaps.

Universe Hound and Cyclonus (and Ravage) look pretty excellent.

Kudos to Universe Cheetor having more cheetah-like proportion, though the robot mode appears a little goofy, probably mis-transformed, and the cheetah head on the chest sorta looks like it should be going "HAY EVER'BUDDY!"  

Still lookin' forward to stuff, though there's not a ton of new here. A little ironic that with as much rumored emphasis on Universe/25th anniversary we were hearing about, there seems to be more info about Animated not previously seen at Botcon than Univ/25th.

Captain America can be redecoed into the current Captain America, who is actually Bucky. That costume has metallic red, and blue on the torso, and black for most of the rest of the body except for the gloves. Or it can be redecoed into U.S. Agent.

Thor can be repainted into the current Thor costume, which has no yellow aside from his hair, its preominantly silver,black, and red, with maybe some blue but I think its for trim/highlights.
