Friday The 13th Blog Blog Archive Pics of the all new Jason Voorhees in action! Seems pretty faithful to the original...
He has a fat head.... Still, he looks better than he did in Jason X. Ugh, what a horrible movie! He looked the best in Part 7. That was AWESOME!!!
I agree on that notion. To me after seeing these pics this movie might be cool to see. Dont get me wrong I was dig the undead version of Jason and to me a human Jason is still dangerous as a undead one, but I could be wrong. Can't wait intil this movie come out.
I forgot all about this movie. The pics look good, but lets face it, if you're trying to do a good interpretation of Jason, you really can't go wrong. I'll hold my judgment until I see a full trailer.
It's kind of a complete franchise reset. The F13 series has gotten so convoluted, annoying and downright awful that I kind of welcome this reset of the franchise.
I think so too a remake or a "reimagining" but as I red it. They combine parts 1-3 or 4 into one has they put in they'll have Jason's mom in it and then well you know the story.
Yeah, Halloween, while I think had some promise to it, wasted too much time as a needless backstory film. And the backstory given goes against the whole premise of Michael Meyers being simply evil for no other reason than he was just that, evil. For those not to in tune with the original 2 films, were the ones who really enjoyed it. I was not one of them.
One and two were good, however I did like H20 and found that to be a suitable end to the Halloween franchise.
So mom goes nuts after Jason goes missing, get's snuffed early in the film, Jason continues the her work? That's quite a bit of story to cover.
I guess the issue is that Friday the 13th doesn't have an "essential" installment that contains everything the general public recognizes about the series. I mean, when you want a good Freddy movie, you grab the first Nightmare on Elm Street. You want the essential Michael Myers adventure, grab the first Halloween. Leatherface? Grab the first Texas Chainsaw Massacre. But Jason? He's not in the first Friday the 13th. You can grab the second one, but he wears a burlap sack in it and carries a pitchfork. He gets his mask in the third one, but that movie is terrible. The fourth one is good...but honestly, who is going to instinctively grab the fourth film off the shelf while mindlessly looking for a Friday the 13th movie? Bay's Friday the 13th should be interesting. It'll likely condense everything down to the essentials and give us a good old fashioned Jason movie without any gimmicks, such as traveling to New York, body-hopping or blasting off into space. But as has already been pointed out, the Halloween remake was supposed to be a solid restart of the franchise (which had gotten really convuluted with alternate timelines and mystical curses and shit)...and it sucked.
F13 IS a weird series. Most people wont know his mother is the original killer. I liked the first 4, 5 sucked, 6 and 7 ROCKED, 8 was meh and 9 and 10 were GARBAGE. I wish they would make him look like he did in part 7 with all his bones and shit hanging out. That was badass. Come on, you know that just screams MR. UNIVERSE!
