Bumblebee needs a voice...But not that of a British Butler...

 

I wish animated came before the movie, so that way Tom Kenny and Bumper Robinson could show everyone how awesome they play Bumblebee and Starscream! I know some people don't like those voices, but I think it sounds just like they should. But Bumblebee's movie voice should have something to represent his personality, like Hot Rod. But a teenage voice would probably sound strange on a killer robot loaded with rockets. But he does pee on Sector Seven agents, so go figure.

I want him to have a voice, but not no deep allstate man sounding one. He needs a lighter , spunkier, smartassy little shit sounding one IMO

Also, about my opinion on the whole Bumblebee saying 'boy', instead of just 'Sam'. To me it just sounded way more 'magical' than when he would have said just 'Sam'. By calling him 'boy' instead of 'Sam' he displays his role of a guardian more. If you know what I mean. I don't really know how to explain it.

 

Did we watch the same movie? The one I saw showed Ratchet shoot his "laser thing" at Bumblebee in the alley in the first half of the movie. It certainly didn't fix his voice as 1) Ratchet comments that he's still working on it and 2) more obviously, Bumblebee still doesn't speak until the end of the film!

A more rational answer (though still dubious for a few reasons) is that since Bumblebee touched the AllSpark, it fixed his voice processor (a la Frenzy's new bod)... but as far as I know this isn't an official explanation, but it's one that actually works (sorda)!!!

 

Roberto Orci himself has explained (on the official movie forum) that Bumblebee's voice actually IS recovered by that laser Ratchet shines on him in the alley. Orci also said that the Bumblebee voice thing could have been a bit clearer.

 

Nah, IMHO it would be fun as subtle communication in moments where a voice is not appropriate. Anyway he did get his voice back at the end of 2007.

Well, poor Bee. He did just get his voice back. Not sure what I would sound like after just being repaired.

Megs...I am just not so sure Welkers voice is still strong enough. Anyway, if Jazz is DEAD and not able to come back when he is actually in hand. I still say Megs has to be DEAD too. If not, Jazz can return with all new upgrades! (moosh loves Jazz!)

I think Screamer will be okeedokee with more of a roll. This has so much room to grow if TF2007 was a springboard!

 

Hmmm, I was more under the impression that the Allspark did it when he touched it (in a similar way it gave Frenzy a new body) but whatever. I hated the voice anyway. Like people have said it didnt fit his personality at all.

EDIT: I see it was explained you are correct in another post. That definatly could have been made more clear in the movie.

I'll say. Why did he not talk afterwards then? Not even when being released from Sector 7 from Sam and Co... not when trying to tell Sam to run? Etc?

His voice was not immediately fixed after Ratchet shone that laser on him. His vouce came back at the end of the movie, when he has his first real line. I don't know why people never understood the whole Ratchet-fixes-voice-with-laser thing though, because if you listen carefully, Bumblee coughs a few times after he gets the treatment, which to me, would logically indicate that his voice is about to come back.  

 

Well, how come Frenzy got his whole BODY back after touching the AllSpark, but it couldn't fix BB's already slightly repaired and on-the-mend vocal processor?

And even supposing it did, how come BB's first line isn't "Ow, my LEGS!!!"???

Oh man, it's only a movie... And secondly, I don't know all the answers! I didn't write the script, you know  

 

Nothing personal. It just doesn't fit his character like a lot of other posters said. I was thrown off by his voice at the end of the movie. I have nothing against the VA or English accents. In fact, english accents work very well for some characters (need I mention another sentient supercar that was recently inspired by Transformers?) but it's just not Bumblebee, imo.

I agree with what a poster that Bumblebee should have the voice of someone in his '20s. Also, the radio thing is cool. He could talk normally and use the radio when he feels like it. Adds to entertainment 

 

Not a big fan of the english accents for ALL the transformers....i think Megatron kind of needed a bit more of an english accent however.....Ironhide needed to have a Southern Accent, i can just picture Peter Cullen's voice coming from movie Ironhide so perfectly...

 

Wow......imagine Bumblebee talking like say......Ewan Mcgreger (sp?) like he did in the movie Trainspotting?......Creepy

 

I really, really hope you don't think that's an English accent.

 

Actually what no one gets is this... Bumblebee doesn't say a word, and continues to use his radio for communication the entire time between Ratchet "fixing" his vocal processor and him trying to tell Sam to take the Cube. Doesn't jive.
