No. They’re from exhobby directly. I did not use him to purchase these (but I have used him in the past for other things!)

    That's not Hasbro. It's Jazwares.

We've gone this route before. What I'm saying is a dumbed-down, affordable kiddie version of Diaclone, not Diaclone Reboot. That's the only way Hasbro can actually put Diaclone on the shelf.

And no, it wouldn't be as detailed. And no, it wouldn't be for high-end collectors. But I'd fully condone it if only to pull in a new generation of kids - at least those who are into the 1:60 scale stuff that's out there now like the Star Wars Micro Galaxy or Buzz Lightyear toys. Hasbro is kind of ceding that market right now - but they don't have to.

Right. Hasbro offers nothing even remotely close I’m quality and design that TT does with Diaclone. Wishing for Hasbro to have any influence on this line would not bode well for the line. I don’t want it watered down like the TF toy lines have become over the years. No thanks.

I asked my buddy @hardreturn to added GRB in bot mode to his collage of massive toys that are in scale to each other and he has obliged. Lol. Good dude.

Hmmm I wonder if you had a green vehicle (In real world terms) with surface to air or air to air missiles on it can you order them in green too or do they have to come only in white.

Sidewinders for example i've only seen white ones, and I notice on the dragonfly they stand out a bit to much, where as on the Diaclones they match and maybe blend in to much.

But I guess it's personal taste. But when it comes to some repaints I might start juggling parts to add visual interest.

Yeah, I was bummed about the map too. Ex-Hobby?

Cannon attach gimmick is chef's kiss.

LOL everybody getting hyped for recolors already. My inner self-parent (was a latch-key kid) says "We have Robot Base GX at home." Can't wait to see people's photos if they do a "prototype" or "moon" version though.

The price is a swift kick to Megatron's trigger, but whatevs. I'd hoped it'd be a tad cheaper, but knew that DA-95 meant we'd be on the hook.

Finding out that CA comes with leg-locks makes me nervous. I mean if it's just there to extend the life of the leg mechanisms, fine. If the thing can't support its own weight tho... ugh.

Absolutely *love* the drill-shuttle. Totally going to add that to my eventual freezon mining scene alongside blue Digger and a few powered suits.

I'm illiterate so using machine translation, but it seems like the adapter port on the front of CA (where the shuttle docks) will dock with other things in the future. Does it look like it will connect to anything that's been released already?

Can we just talk about the lore on how piloting the Robot Base works when it’s in its robot mode of how one pilot basically “becomes” the base. It reminds me a lot of how the Red Battlezord worked in Power Rangers Zeo for those who are familiar with that. I think this is such a cool piece of lore that could be easily lost if people aren’t aware of it.

It also specifies that either the Black Dianaut from Grand Dion or the White Dianaut from Cloud Across are the main two pilots which gives me the idea that they’ve been through some vigorous mental training to be able to wield the power of the robot base. I imagine it’s something only certain few would be capable of doing. Perhaps you could even have a waruder spy who endured all that kind of training for a sabotage mission to take control of the base.

Okay maybe I’m getting a little silly with the lore but I find this specific piece to be so fascinating and I didn’t see anyone else on the board bring this up yet.

How many half helm Dianauts do ya have? I know the one green one that came with DA-95, but how many others? For now, they only came in green, and were only released with Pod Grander, and now DA-95, right? I know the orange one is coming with CA, but right now we only got em in green, correct?

If thats the case, and so far the only other set is DA-91/Pod Gantry, then i have 5 of them, one each iirc from my 2 Pod Gantrys, and 1 each from my 3 DA-95s, but i only have 1 DA-95 open for now and its staying that way.

I agree. We love this Diaclone line, because it is perfect in almost every way, from detail, to quality, to scale, engineering, etc, and thats all provided by TT, and TT ONLY. There is NOTHING i would want to mess with this line in any way, that could even remotely take the chance of changing it. Especially since ANY change would only be for the negative, not positive.

Hasbro even providing a pinky nails worth of input to this line, would be the kiss of death. NO thanks.

Based on spacing (should be feasible to guesstimate), that forward docking port will definitely be functional with other releases (and likely future releases as well) the DA-14 cockpits for Powered 04/05 (trailers) seem likely.

No such thing - I pored over the whole page meticulously because there's so much lore and detail that really enriches the whole experience. I've done the same with all of the physical media (pamphlets and instructions) as well using a Translate app on my phone that converts image text.

Speaking of lore - They are now officially calling the combined mode Robot Base Gran X (Cross) or G-X for short per the DA-100 TakaraTomy product page. That makes sense, since the lore established that this is an evolution of the Vintage Great Robot Base, and explains the overall "Robot Base Project" which never uses the "Great" word.

Oh, that the "X" is read as "Cross", hence the parentheses behind it. It's a very common fiction name (something something X) to use the X as shorthand and pronounced as "Cross". Many of you already know this - I'm American and so I/we learned that much later as we became more and more familiar with the culture and tropes.

And frankly, it's a badass name.

What an emotional rollercoaster that product page was. I'm truly glad I got into Diaclone at the right time. I can't imagine paying latecomer's taxes on these two. Pretty happy it's coming out next year, I'll have funds ready by then.

I think, as an American, you need to be into gaming, anime, or Japanese culture to understand the (cross) thing. I can’t think of anything American that does it, it is all imported stuff. I think I first learned about it with Street Fighter X Tekken / Tekken X Street Fighter (which never happened). But, it is also fun when you apply it to other things, like South (cross) Southwest, or (cross)-mas, thus named because we celebrate Jesus. I recently saw Fast (cross), too.

Again, my lore is that they disagree on how to utilize GRB and tactics, leading to difficulties in the field that prevents GRB from being fully useful until they set aside their differences.

Trying to catch up a bit!

It’s a whole lot of fun! It isn’t motorized so it is more like playing with a large toy or puppet in some ways, but definitely very cool. Takes a bit of work to operate but I definitely recommend trying it one day!
