Given the effort they've gone to, they are curious omissions.

 

Problably used up all the budget in painting the legs  

Might have to get this one as "insurance" too for Tigatron. Very sad that I need to do that bc yellowing but oh well.

 

It's nice, but the Kingdom Blackarachnia (with the Buzzworthy's spider legs) is pretty sufficient, as is Tigatron

Gonna get doubles of the Dinobot set though lol

 

I'll take this along with a Dinobot set!

I would like to know what steps Takara-Tomy took to be able to cast Optimus Primal's hip joints in red for the Premium Finish 2-pack.

Those parts, cast in blue for the Kingdom release and in black for the Nemesis Primal redeco, cannot be painted yet the manufacturers found a way to make them show-accurate red for the upcoming Premium Finish release.

Did they instruct their vendor to make additional parts in red so they would have red molded hip parts available for assembly?

Did Takara-Tomy pay to have an additional tool cut for those parts, so they could be molded in red without forcing other parts to also be molded in red?

Blackarachnia's feet cannot be painted purple, but casting them in purple, instead of black, may be an option if Takara-Tomy are willing to push for it.

Crass as it may be to attribute everything to budget restraints, maybe Takara-Tomy were willing to spend a little extra to make their leader 2-pack more show-accurate but not willing to spend as much money to do the same for the fourth release in the series.

Optimus Primal's hip joints are not nylon. All Primal's blue is paintable plastic. The feet (which were painted on the Netflix version), the balljoint-ended pipes in his ankles, the outsides of his biceps, his head... these are all on the same dark blue sprue. The swords and shoulder cannons are blue plastic (but lighter maybe?) but the swords are always painted and the shoulder cannons were painted on Nemesis Primal. There's no unpaintable nylon blue on him. The hips have to be paintable. (the inner black balljoints inside those hips are nylon, though)

And the BWAgain's hip joints are not cast in red.

(plus it just looks like painted texture, versus the plastic around it)

 

 
They can paint them they are just cowards  

 

But they aren't, so they won't. Probably no where near cost effective to do it with the budget here, but arguably the black feet look better for beast mode anyway.

 

I do wish she had purple feet, but it's not the worst. The purple (and green) really adds to her otherwise kind of boring color scheme though.

Tigatron looks great without the ugly yellowing on his fur, but at the same time he has no silver highlights at all? That's kind of bland too.

Probably the weakest set. Blackarachnia's spider legs never bothered me.

You're right, that red does look like paint. Yikes!

Well, I'll just have to paint Blackarachnia's feet myself.
It's an inconvenient fact that industrial paints don't adhere to nylon, but hobby paints certainly do.

Does it annoy anyone else that Tigatron's green parts don't match? Some are metallic and some aren't when they should all be the same.

 

Some green is paint, some green is plastic.

And the plastic is...

That may be the case, but for all of the whining about Hasbro's version of Tigatron that I've seen since it released, at least their paint matched the colored plastic fairly well.

 

If the Pf g1 and bw Megatron's are any indication, for better or worse the metallic parts will probably be toned down

 

Then it's a different question. I would like to know what steps Takara-Tomy took to be able to cast Optimus Primal's upper thighs in white for the Premium Finish 2-pack. Because that does not look painted, unless it's a very good paint   and on the previous versions they were all the blue plastic. Things to think about  

Also didn't they paint something in Cyclonus in a nylon part?
