It does not feel like something Mattel would do anytime soon as it would compete with their Jurassic line. If they lost the license maybe, but they’re absolutely happy to keep it as their best current action figure line. Certainly would love such a line!
The stickers are the only annoying part. One side I got okay when it came to the JP logo, the other side one sticker is off just a bit. It doesn't help the left side has the split on the skull of the rex in the logo so its easier to see. That said she's... honestly pretty solid. So real interesting transformation choices. I hope we get more of these Edit: I removed the sticker, replaced it, and hit it with modge podge to seal it and it's all better
I would love it, but I doubt it will happen. I'd even love reissues with better bands or plastic connectors somehow My Amazon Elasmosaurus is supposed to be out for delivery
Is anyone seeing this at retail yet? I know BBTS has it (and I might get it from there), but I’m curious.
Anyone know if the corythosaurus in the Hammond Collection is more than just the para with a new head?
Hmm, is the neck maybe more of a sleeve? That picture of the neck bent reminds me of SHF Golza’s tail, though hopefully not as bad as that.
I need to see some reviews of the brachial before I consider buying it. I need to know exactly how the neck works in terms of getting that possibility.
Ehh. I've always had a problem with that actually, but accepted it because budget and I don't really have to use it. With that huge ass neck, I'd worry about long term stability and longevity being a bendy wire and rubber. I personally have always disliked rubber, and I feel this takes it too far
Depends on the rubber, too. I have a JP2 Stegosaurus from 25 years ago that has a rubber tail and is still in great shape. Same with my JP2 Bull T-Rex. But then I also had a 1/18 scale Jabba the Hutt in 2013 that turned into a sticky-melty mess in two years. If it were modern Hasbro toy (Kenner was actually fine), that would be an immediate disqualifier. Mattel? I don't have enough experience with their rubber quality. So yeah - I'm anxious to see reviews.
Not really, but at least when the rubber tail disintegrates it could be considered battle damage and won't affect the rest of the dino. If this disintegrates quickly, it affects the whole figure, and then it's only good as a corpse.
Classics Snout Spout and DCUC Swamp Thing were disasters but those were way back. More recently, the rubbery tails on Amber Collection dinosaurs are susceptible to tearing and wear, especially if bent or if kept in warmer climates. The wing joints on the Amber and Hammond pterosaurs can tear because they’re also made of the same rubbery material as the rest of the wings. Minor bright side is that Hammond tails don’t (yet) have the same issue as Amber tails.
