Oh, now I'm glad I set an alarm. I thought I was maybe too anxious. But I have been waiting 3 years and would have been annoyed if I missed it. I even already have Turbo Duo logo stickers, the 2.4ghz controllers, rondo of blood in English on cd (obviously a repro) and a Turbo Everdrive lying around here. I think also Bonk 3. Edit: Hugo boss is right, still available. Analogue The grey Buttons are probably irritating. Now I only need a NeoGeo and I have fulfilled my 90s desires.
I read from the subreddit, r/TurboGrafx, that a Turbo Everdrive might not fit due to the slot design of the Duo, unlike other PCE/TG16/TurboDuo consoles with the lid which allows the Everdrive to slide right in. Hope I'm wrong though...
They are wrong. It has been written on Analogue's FAQ since 2020 that it fits, you just need to remove the acrilyc cover.
yeah I had a pocket preorder sitting in my cart so they wouldn't let me add, I see the duo is still up. for anyone on the fence, these things get jailbroken almost the same week it lands in the community. having or not having a turbo everdrive/pro shouldn't have any impact on your ordering decision.
Yeah, the Turbo EverDrive is just my contingency. But depends. My Mega Sg and Super NT are also Jailbroken, but I still prefer using Mega EverDrive Pro and FXPak Pro respectively because they can do a lot more. The Jailbroken console can just run Roms.
I want an Analogue Duo, I really do, however, I have a TG-16 mini, and a lot of the games that I'd play on the Duo are covered off...
I had $80 in amazon credit from the amazon halo they are discontinuing (got it with a gym promo) and decided to try the miyoo mini plus. with tax it only cost me 10 bucks so will see how it is. I still plan on getting analogue pocket but yeah had to take a chance based on some of the feedback that this thing is pretty solid. If anything, it will tide me over til the pocket preorder comes in.
wow the miyoo mini plus is a pretty insane little emulation device if that is your thing. I'm just using it to tide myself over til the pocket finally shows up but damn I don't fault anyone who enjoys playing this thing. it'll run up to cps3 games with no issue, and a majority of ps1 stuff.
I know it was talked about in this thread awhile back, but the fan game Sonic Triple Trouble 16 Bit has gotten it's "final" content update Game Jolt - Share your creations I still haven't gotten around to playing it but it should also be available on Android now.
Wondering why Activision’s Atari catalog is basically unavailable legally. Anthology got pulled from the App Store, and nothing of that sort’s been available on modern consoles.
For some reason YouTube started recommending me a crap ton of Twisted Metal videos which was strange because I had never sought them out, but now I felt like revisiting the series as I used to love the games as a kid. Never owned TM2, but I did borrow it from my cousin and was the first one I played, so I went and got it on PSN and was still a lot of fun. Now there is a Twisted Metal game I did grow up with and it was this one I was obsessed with this one as a kid, beating the game with every character, but apparently it was one of the weaker entries. Replaying the game now, I think it’s safe to say they blew a lot of the budget on the game’s soundtrack lol. Okay, real talk, game’s not great but I don’t think the game was that bad either, I still enjoyed it, watts and all. Even if only two of the endings were actually tolerable The last one right now is TM Head On. Had that one on the PSP and was just a ton of fun
I started getting those videos recommended to me too. I remember renting TM1 and I wasn’t impressed, but TM2 was amazing and I loved it. Unfortunately development of TM3 & 4 went to another company, which explains the differences from the first two. I bought TM3 and it just wasn’t as good. I remember my biggest issue with it was my car constantly flipping, which ground the combat to a halt. (Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad you liked it). I skipped TM4, but Twisted Metal Black was excellent. It was developed by many of the same people as the first two, who had since formed another company. My favorite vehicle was probably Brimstone because it’s deliciously, well, twisted; the insane preacher driving it, the stained glass windshield, and the special attack where he launches followers strapped with dynamite.
From what I heard, the studio behind TM3 didn't have access to any of the engines, assets or anything from the first two games, so they had to make everything from scratch, which would certainly explain a lot. I also heard that it had a really short development time, but I can't find any concrete details of the game's development, so don't quote me on that. Would certainly make for a great "Wha Happun?" episode if nothing else
It's the Rally Cross team that worked on TM3. They pretty much took the Rally Cross engine and slapped weapons on it. That's why there's a tendency for the vehicles to flip onto their roofs which was a frequent thing in Rally Cross. Singletrac did the first two TM games and TM:Black.
definitely a recommend on the miyoo mini plus after some extended time with the handheld. just make sure you dump the initial romset it comes with as a lot of the games are pal/EU versions that have different framerates and can run like shit for some snes and gen games. other than that is will play sega cd, turbo cd, and up to cps3 games fine. it does a bit of ps1 too. really good emulation portable for the 80 or so bucks it will run shipped.
Picked up a 19in Sanyo crt for $10 bucks. Putting this inside my custom Legend of Zelda arcade, but first was testing it out and yep love it!
