Remember to upload your discoveries, I made nearly 1000 nanites just by reporting everything I casually scanned from only 2 systems.

    I’m not crying.

Just got my first freighter last night befoe shutting down. Never had one before. How do you make money with them? Same way as always, just more space to collect more inventory?

Send your frigates out on missions and do the small quest things.

Best way I’ve found to make money is get 3 S-class scanning modules, get nearly 1 mil per planet now.

What are the risks/costs of them doing missions? Or is it just free money?

They’re all fairly easy, only thing you loose out on is time.
Honestly doing the archeology stuff is pretty lucrative as well.

Farm Wispering Eggs for Larval Cores. It's moderately dangerous, but you can sell each core for around 95,000 units. A good strategy is to find an abandoned building. They usually have some surrounding it. Mine one or two eggs tops, grab the cores, and then boost onto the roof of the building. The biological horrors can't jump or climb. Wait for your jet pack to recharge. Then mine an egg from the roof, drop down to grab the core, and quickly boost back onto the roof. After doing that a couple times, you should be able to get the max number of creatures to spawn. At which point run over to the opposite side of the building. You can mine 3-4 eggs before they can run around the building to get to you. Make sure you only do that after you get around six or so creatures to spawn. If not, some will spawn right by you. Once you have the location of an abandoned building, it should stay marked. Go back periodically, and the eggs should eventually respawn.

I played through the beginning where you're trying to repair your ship. Got the Hermetic Seal, and began making my way back to my ship... and got lost. Managed to make it back to where I got the seal, and found the right way to get back to the ship... and got lost again. Spent 2 hours trying to find my ship. Shot past the 25K steps accomplishment or whatever it was. Discovered a whole bunch of stuff and collected lots of resources... but you can't save unless you're at your ship. I hate looking up answers online, but I didn't want to lose all the progress I had made, so I broke down and did some research.

Turns out, I was supposed to repair the HUD of my spacesuit after getting the seal, and totally skipped over that step. Whoops.

But I'm enjoying the game, and stopped last night after leaving the first planet and landing on a new one.

I agree now with everyone that says start over, my daughter started her own game last night, and it was so much easier than what i'm going through from my original game launch save, she was even just given (a broken) awesome multi-tool with 17 slots that she will just have to repair later.

Saw a couple of tricks to get the cores without much risk

Dig a hole under the nest and let the cores fall, if you make the hole small enough, the creatures can get in the hole and you can get the cores. Other trick is to build walls around the nest... climb on the walls, shoot the cores, wait for the bugs to be outside the walls and collect the cores, they cant get back in

I remember this game was announced at E3 and i was literally so ecstatic for it to release. I got it launch down and spent HOURS playing it. I made it to this planet that had a infinite amount of gold. And i would just spend hours mining gold , selling it , redoing the same process making bank. But then it got boring , i played again when they added bases or i think i finally made a base and then after that it was kinda like “what now?” I remember i was trying to find this resource to do something within my base but had no luck.

with this quarantine idk if i should start playing again or restart.

    Restart.

It sounds like last you played was pre-Next. A LOT has changed, and they were pretty good about having the game teach you those changes as you go along if you play from the beginning. One of the biggest changes is that while there's still *extreme* money making systems in the game, just about everything makes enough money that you can do pretty much what you want. You don't *have* to farm if you don't want to.

Hi everyone. I got No Man's Sky for Christmas after having my eye on it for few years.

I'm not disappointed at all, and am really enjoying it. Looks like all the updates have finally made it the game it was meant to be, and I believe it will only get better from here.

I’ve put this game off for a long time, I’m seriously considering giving it a go now.

    Definitely pick it up.

In got this game in 2016 when I first got my PS4 and didn't play it more than once or twice at that time and have it played it since then until this past weekend. Now all the bugs have been fixed and the game is much improved.

I bought it on PC when it first came out as well, i pretty much beat the game at the time. It would be fun to revisit it again sometime.

I really enjoyed the game back then.

It's a completely different game now from launch. It also goes on sale on all platforms pretty regularly. So if you wait, you can pick it up on the cheap.

That said, if you've been a regular day 1 player through all that time, even though it's undeniable how much things have improved, there's still frustrations with the very slow pace of that progress. It's one of those things where the devs will add 2 new things to a thing. Is it better? Heck yes, it has 2 new things it hasn't had before. But when you play it, you see where they could have easily added 8 new things instead of 2. Repeat ad nauseum for pretty much everything. That and some of the new things they add are frame with either bare or no filler. Pets and Settlements are initially cool, but you realize pretty quick there's no meat on the bone. It implies a lot so you think there's more there there, but there isn't, and there easily could be, and both systems have been stagnating since being introduced. This is a common complaint from the day 1 regulars.

I still play it regular. I really enjoy it because it's pretty relaxing and it's the prettiest it's ever been. The graphic progress is undeniable too. It's just that it should be MUCH more than it is, and could have been MUCH more than it is without really that much more effort.

If you're never played before, or you only dipped your toe here or there, now's definitely a good time to jump in. It'll keep you occupied for a long time ooh-ing and aahh-ing, especially if you really get into the base building. The Switch version works. It's not the best version of the game but it works well enough for being a hand held port.

Just started playing recently. Already a decent ways in.
Got another save going as of today specifically for Expeditions.
Gonna go through this as fast as possible.

Shame I missed the previous ones.
