I dunno… the Classified Serpentor is so good I’m not sure Mezco can add much to it. Plus, if theirs also came with an air chariot I wouldn’t want to spend the kind of money they’d demand. We’d be looking at $150 minimum and that honestly feels low as I say it. Yeah, no, we’d probably be in the $240 range like with Ghost Rider. The Classified Serpentor is good enough at its price point that I don’t feel the need for a nicer version.
When they first showed Destro,I was fully planning on just doing a Cobra command with Mezco. I thought CC,Destro, Baroness, Bludd the Twins and Serpentor. But honestly Hasbro did so well with Serpentor that I don't think I feel it necessary to replace him. Since Hasbro did the pivot in design, I've been pretty happy with the designs on most of the Cobra command Corp. With Hasbro doing a more classic Firefly,I just don't know that I'll need him. I do look forward to seeing what his load out looks like because I have no doubt that his accessories are going to be pretty awesome. Looking forward to the full reveal and I'll make a decision from there I think.
A Mezco (insert any Joe or Cobra character) would be hard for me to resist, especially after Destro and how well I feel he was done....
Opened my first GIJoe Classified today. Retro Storm Shadow : butterfly shoulders, pinless double hinges, extra swappable hands. Are they all this good or is he special?
The earlier figures had pinned joints and most don’t have hand options, but otherwise? Yeah, they’re all that good. Detailed sculpts, lots of accessories, full articulation, great shelf presence. It’s been said before and I’ll say it again, Classified are THE best 1/12 or 6in figures at their price point, bar none.
Believe it or not the only ones I would say are worse would be the previous Storm Shadows. They looked good but lacked boot swivels, which sort of hindered their articulation. But yeah it's an amazing line and nice to see what Hasbro does with a 6 inch line when they don't have to pay a license like Star Wars Black.
Well he came in a standard box as well but yeah this is the first SS mold to have boot swivels, which has been included on almost everyone else. As far as I know, the other two SS were from the Snake Eyes movie and the Amazon V3 and both didn't have them for some reason.
To clarify, mainline 2022 Classified Storm Shadow had the boot swivel too, same tooling reused for the retro carded version save for the new forearm wrappings and hands.
$115 USD (I think?) with a possible two year wait. Literally didn’t post this at all due to the fact Mezco has pissed off so many customers already with multiple delays and has not posted on their social media platforms on the reasons why.
Nice! Nah, they are perfect size in most cases imo. Little Armory is by far, my weapons of choice for my GI Joe Classifieds collection.
Okay. I had seen several post that they were too small except for smaller female figures... Good to know. The diorama pieces were tempting, but I was afraid they were too small. _________________________________________ No opening toolbox? Both versions being shown lately skipped that key play feature of the ARAH figure... _____________________________________ - My favorite ME (modern era) set, TRU exclusive Cobra Night Watch team. This set got me back into collecting GI Joe (i.e., Cobra) in the later part of the Naughts... 1 Officer and 4 Troopers, each with their own specialized gear loadout. (See a pattern?) I still love and prefer these redesigned figures over the now quite dated "chibi-look" the original ARAH vintage figures had and the increased articulation. I picked this one up not that long ago to eventually add to the Cobra army thanks to Toy Fiends.
Looking at the Mezzco Firefly it's not better or an upgrade when compared to the Classifieds version. With Destro being a $100 Destro when the $20 Classifieds does basically the same thing. And with Mezzco's two plus year wait and a string of failures (Alien Warrior, Predator, 89 Batman, Ghost Rider), is it worth buying.
