I still consider Tuner Mudflap to be one of the worst shelfwarmers in history. I guess it had to be, to balance out the absolute myth that was Human Alliance Mudflap.

 

I'd love for them to happen! The characters are not the issue they are made out to be, the response was soooooo overblown. I'd love more movie accurate figures, both for the ice cream truck and their Beat and Trax forms

 

Would I buy new Twins toys if they were made? Maybe, if they looked alright.

Do I think we're ever getting them? Hell no.

The Twins are down there in the dregs with stuff like Kissplayers, stuff that HasTak never wants to touch again. If we were getting Twins toys, it absolutely would have happened by now. The Studio Series has already moved onto G1, AND even the video games. With RoB right around the corner, there's a new injection of fresh blood to keep it going, and I wouldn't be surprised if some more (movieverse) Dinobots and TF5 characters ended up getting the SS treatment.

I've been wrong before, but those two are a part of the franchise that's just too grimy to touch on again.

 

100% it would be, way easier to be able to sell a purple and white Ice-Cream van bots than a silver and black realistic handgun.

 

We have a better chance of getting a Haslab Megatron that turns into a functioning M249 SAW capable of firing live 5.56x45mm NATO rounds than getting those "characters" ever again.

 

Well, as far as size, IF they made one, it wouldn’t be bigger than the original, which is actually huge compared to SS movie deluxe cars… but yeah, part of SS’s schtick is scale. Predominantly robot mode scale, but yeah, that affects the vehicle mode (see Ratchet)… so your hopes of a bigger one in the SS line are nigh improbable I imagine.

 

Even if Mudflap and Skids are on Hasbro's blacklist, I really hope they revisit the "ice cream truck duocon" concept sometime in the future, it's too fun an idea to let fade into the annals of history.

 

Well Soundwave's Live Action Movie toy has had several toys years after the Movie he was in. and no one's every really done a Masterpece like take on the "mostly removed" Dark of the Moon version of the characters and I'd be keen to have those.

I really like Tuner Skids and Tuner Mudflap as a pair, they are only really great as a pair though.

I have no issue with the twins to me Leo & Simmons was always a way more offensive character than a couple of 'street rats' I found them kinda endearing to be honest, I think the gold tooth and a few other aspects didn't help their narritive that they are just a couple of imature Teens though.

But I like them just fine, and if a 3rd party did a good job with their own versions of them I can see them being something I'd be keen to buy, kinda like a decent Laserbeak or Frenzy is something i'd really like too.

I think those sit up an beg remote control cars you can get turned into the icecream truck that splits would have been a great idea for a toy too.

& Yes as much as I prefer the cars I like the Icream truck too.

 

It’s a cool idea and creative one engineering wise. So i’d be cool.

I really dislike those characters…but I would be down for a generations homage that had two Autobots merge into an ice cream truck.

 

the line is far from out of ideas, they've got characters from the rest of the ss86 movie, just about the entire AOE and TLK cast, and then a whole metric shit ton of game characters to do

 

I myself love the characters. I would love to see them again. Also would love to see them released again for the snowflakes to cry.

 

skids and mudflap are like the forth most-prominent bay autobots and thats funny as fuck

easily the most divisive characters of the last 2 decades and theyre also some of the few bay autobots to have a definable personality

regardless, I'd love toys of them. their proportions and altmodes are interesting across both the icecream van and the two hatchbacks.

 

So was there ever actual real life answers to why they haven’t gotten figures? I see everyone throwing around they’re untouchable etc etc but is that just an educated guess? I don’t recall hasbro ever having an official answer on the subject unless they did and someone can point me to it

IIRC one of the designers in one of the recent streams (or maybe in an Instagram comment?) acknowledged that Mudflap and Skids are still on the table for Studio Series. So definitely not untouchable. I wish I remembered where that comment was, I’d love if someone else knows what I’m talking about and can link the source.

I didnt mind herp and derp as figures, the Human Alliance toys were really cool I thought. I loved that entire line actually.

I had the ice cream truck at one point, it was a fun figure as well, a bigger one would be great, but I the characters are tainted lol

 

I wouldn't get the ice cream truck, but a ss version of the chevy modes, I'd get them. The truck is a cool idea though.
