    For what it’s worth the show did both but in some shots, he does have the treads static up.

    The poses in these stock photos are pretty static. I doubt he can do good sword-swinging poses, like how laser prime had the same issue.

    Interestingly, this shot draws him exactly like how the Legacy figure is designed, with the movable shoulder flap.

    It is yeah, like two of the shots I shared have the arms designed like that and you can see the flap moved up.

    That's fair, but I don't personally associate pre-Energon Megs as being a swordsman. The Star Saber was more of a Hot Shot and Starscream thing. I would still consider this a great update even with a 90° lock.

    this frame draws the tread stack as being a separate part from the shoulder entirely, like the fanshobby one.
    it also breaks the rules of physics, unless the tread stack is supposed to be sliding backwards.

    Unlikely. CMDStore gets stuff crazy fast. I've never been able to figure out how or why.
