Insane that they went through all that effort of making new knees and hips, things I never needed them to fix, but no new ankles, which are still horrific. I mean the current ankles are literally just slid onto a post, purely friction. It would’ve been so easy for them to do something with this. None of the new joints matter of you can’t get the feet to stay flat 1ECDD3F3-AB8D-4DEC-81BD-6DBE97CAD1A4.jpeg

I mean... the new joints just replace the existing ratchets (which were poorly chosen to mesh plastic against metal) with friction joints. The ankles are already friction - can't exactly go double-friction.

Not my point. I wasn’t asking them to make them friction, but to update the joint to a better one like they did the other two. This joint is far more important because he can’t fuckin stand if his ankles won’t work

The legs are generally designed horribly. From the useless die cast thighs, the week knee ratchets, the odd angle of the foot rocker, the hollow feet…
…all work in tandem to not work at all.

Not to mention that with the replacement pieces (were you have to buy a whole figure to get them) the knee joints are too wide (I have a slight gap between the thigh pieces) and the thigh rotation joint is so loose that the figure can collapse in dynamic poses, were before the figure could collapse in the knees.

At least now the head looks nice now.

I think you should just cut your losses at this point and sell this figure :lol .

I don’t think you’ll ever be happy with it.

Personally, I thought he was pretty okay before. Didn’t mess with him much because of the way that he was; but now he’s utterly fantastic.

Perhaps one of the mainline crackerjack toy options would better suit you.

    If you say so.

    Cadmus/Kadmos was a dragon-slayer in Greek mythology.

My association goes to the Cadmus Foundation in the DC comics.

I like the toy a lot more now that he has a new head. I’m just utterly baffled about the design and engineering decisions that went into the toy. Why was it dine this way.

Maybe once I have a good transforming Star Saber toy I will be able to sell it.

So the balance is due on the dark star saber, and I feel like i'm in a bit of a quandary. He looks great, but I have the haslab, and the original planet x victory saber ... and have messed with NEITHER of them. How do you all like this one? Think the dark one is worth having a third version??

Is there some trick to lining up the legs so the panels close in plane mode? I got the dark version yesterday, and I cannot get that part to line up properly. I keep adjusting the knee angles, but the panels are either too far apart or they conflict with the figure's backside. I watched a few different videos, but I didn't see anything special mentioned for that part. They just effortlessly got it lined up.

When I did mine, I think I watched TMRreviews. I think he went over the knees fairly good. It’s been a while since I did mine, but I sure that the knees had to be rotated just right, I know that doesn’t help you, sorry, but I think I got mine close and then moved the knees around until they fit.

Maybe this may peak your interest:
IronTrans IR-V01 IRV01 Star Blade Star Saber G1 Transformers Victory

They might be doing a re-release since they're also making a Victory Leo. They currently have a Dark Star Saber as well.

That video did help, thank you. I eventually figured the foot wasn't going in all the way, and getting stuck on a part inside. Once I got it over that, it lined up and closed up just fine, haha.

I have this one too. Sadly it left a lot to be desired. However, it think between Kadmos Star Blade and MP Star Saber, Star Blade is probably the best one.

I had high hopes for the HasLab one but then Zavvi went ahead and cancelled my order. :(
