If they are/were indeed looking for a female Thing, then they are truly asking themselves "Let's see how much of a joke we can make this film out to be."

 

It's enturely possible they may have been considering going with Sharon Ventura instead of Ben Grimm.

 

They need to get a "New York" guy to play Ben Grimm. Loud, brash, machismo. I think it would be cool if they got someone like Method Man.

Daveed Diggs has a mousey voice and I worry if they cast Seth Rogen that he will just make it a big joke.

Margot has the look, but I don't know if I have ever seen her in a 'Sue Storm' type role yet? I don't doubt she has range, but I think she will really need to 'find' the character.

Margot Robbie. Emma Stone. Now I kind of feel bad for whoever does get the role since those are two pretty high watermarks to measure up against. More power to that person, but at this point, I'm not going to be able to resist comparing them to What Could Have Been.

 

It's possible they turned it down because Marvel wants them to sign on to multiple pictures. As an actor, I'd be hesitant to do that too these days, with their films being mediocre, but also how bad the last FF4 was.

I'm still pulling for Comer or Kirby. I think they both are good fits.

Not sure if RDJ can pull of a Slavic/German accent though.

 

Has a kid, European accented Doom from the 1990's Spider-Man animated series was always my favorite version of him.

 

Doom is Marvel’s Vader he never takes off his mask in public and a good voice actor will make or break the character.

 

Hot Take: Julian McMahon was the perfect casting for Dr Doom and RDJ would have flopped in that role.

Interesting choice. I mostly know her from American Horror Story and Scream Queens, but I think she also played Nancy Drew in the mid-2000s. I think she'd make a good Sue.

 

Agree. And Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis were perfect as Johnny and Ben.

 

So much of that 2005 film is so good. It’s a damn shame it doesn’t come together.
