I think pipeline reveals started after his wave. I guess my point is that while the pipeline art may not be accurate, that doesn't automatically disqualify non G1 characters from getting dedicated molds. At this point it's pretty clear that Bulkhead was made to be Bulkhead (considering his alleged Optimus Prime use never materialized) and Animated Prowl is in the same boat (though more accurate to his source than Bulkhead).

 

I still want a new character out of that Bulkhead mold....

Yes to Wasp but oh hell the fuck no to Slipstream made from Windblade.

Yeah, my top choice for her would definitely be a new mold based on either Animated or Cyberverse, but if we can't get that, just make her from literally any current Seeker mold and as long as she at least gets a new head I'll be happy (or at least happier than if she'd made from Windblade).

The head's bad but otherwise this is way better than the Takara one IMO because at least she still looks like a Seeker and at least she doesn't cheapen Windblade's unique design or continue the tired pre-Legacy trope of making all the fembots in a line share the same 1-2 molds just because they turn into the same general class of vehicle. I think a CHUGified TFP Starscream could work pretty well for her.

Yeah, and they don't even need to have any molding differences other than the head, I always put their minimal differences in height and build down to the art style.

 

There's not really a character I can think of that they can pretool from her that won't turn out awful except maybe IDW SUV Prowl. If they're really deciding everyone post-07 now doesn't get their own mold (Arcee, Bulkhead and Prowl got their own molds) then that's a pretty sad scenario. I still have some doubts that's the case looking at those three examples and that newbies get their own molds, but if it really holds water... hopefully that reshell/retool idea I had pans out.

Apparently someone is getting their hands on the toys and giving detailed descriptions. Don't know how reliable they are, but I hope they hurry up on her. The descriptions are at least fun to use to imagine the toys.

 

I won't lie, even though I'm withholding judgment on some of these leaks, if Strongarm winds up being compromised by being a hybrid or obvious pretool, that might finally be the last straw for me. The cost cutting is just getting too hard to ignore at this point.

Like, I don't blame the design team; Hasbro's leadership has made it quite clear what their priorities are.

Nah I'm sure the Barrage beetle head will be remolded from Bombshell, it's the proper rhinoceros beetle in the Evolution art.

 

I try not to trust concept art too much, but that's what I'm hoping! I know that they are more than likely not able to get the beetle head on the chest like the G1 version, but I will be happy if they can at least get it to be a proper rhinoceros beetle. (As well as maybe give Chop Shop proper pincers)

 

I think the designers seem to genuinely like working on beasts, monsters, insects. The Predacons, Maximals, Seacons, Monsterbots, Dinobots, Insecticons, etc., just ooze personality in their beast modes, and it's obvious a lot of effort goes into their design!

 

Pyro out of him would be nice.

Definitely and also the ROTB Maximals. Like SS Cheetor and Rhinox. Rhinox’s Rhino mode is very possible and we don’t get that a lot. Usually very restrictive.

Ransack out of Kickback was definitely the easy one to start with, and I think they nailed it. Chop Shop should be fairly easy to do as well, but Barrage and especially Venom are the 2 I'm most eager to see, just because their designs are quite different from the most part! I'm still hoping that Venom gets a new mold, or at least a lot of new parts, as I have a hard time envisioning him coming from any of the 3 main Insecticons.

Maybe I have low standards when it comes to my collecting, but I'm happy that they are making the attempt to do them at all, even if they have to compromise here and there!

Strangely, I prefer the opposite; different body types, but same heads between both types.

Nightshade for Legacy UNI 2024

 

As cool as that would be, I fear that it's too early to have EarthSpark characters in Generations. At that point you'd be competing with yourself over which product is better for a brand new character like Nightshade. Also I'm not really sure who they could be partialed into considering how unique their Alt Mode is, & we all know that when they make a figure they tend to have atleast one other character in mind for a potential future use of that particular mould. Not impossible mind you, but definitely a challenge given how much Nightshade's model cheats in the show.
