I ordered one, it looks like fun.

 

Man, between Robosen RotB prime and bumblebee, and the official reveal of this thing, today has been “they day of companies revealing voice activated robotic transformer toys that we already knew about”tm

 

It's fun and all but I'll wait til it goes the way of all movie toys these days and gets heavily reduced.

 

That thing sounds an awful lot like Gary Chalk oddly enough.

 

Who is this for really? Those who grew up with G1, Beast Wars or children who can't afford this? The video showing off this toy shows how bad it is, my gawd! It barely does anything, and nothing worthwhile. Yikes! They should have released a Master Piece collectable instead and called it a day. Whomever buys this is going to be tired with it in a matter of minutes.

 

they definitely should have checked the box for "master piece collectable" instead of the "obvious electronic christmas gift for children" box, they're definitely interchangeable and achieve the same end result

 

the voice and music really hurt the appeal.

both sound like bootleg SFX, like they wanna be the Beast Wars theme with Garry Chalk but they're not. Optimum Primordial, magnify!

if you're not gonna get the beast wars theme just...do something else? like a big gorilla roar or something. instead of half-assing one thing, full ass something else   And if theyre not gonna get someone to imitate Perlman then get Chalk himself for a few lines

 

This is so bad, so bad in many ways that is good!  

I will get it, no doubt about it, but will wait for a sale and believe me, it will be on sale.

 

its for Christmases and birthdays of the lil' kids. it's a big, cool toy that is fun to show off and does cool stuff.
If it's not for you, that's cool, but don't try and impose collector mentality on a kids toy.

so, his voice clips make him seem like BW cartoon Primal because he mentions the Predacons and when transforming to beast mode he said, "We cannot remain in robotic form for long."

 

I don't care what anyone says, I think he's cool and I never thought we would get something like this for beast wars. 11 year old me would eat this up almost as much as modern me lol

 

He's really fun, has a lot of phrases. He transformed to beast mode and said, "Were you expecting a truck?" and chuckled.

 

This seems half hearted, it could have easily included monkey movement with 4 limbs but all it does is stand there in both modes? Plus the robot mode the legs should extend further as he looks stunted still  

 

pretty sure the difference between "stands there and transforms back and forth" and "actually moves around like a monkey" is, like, several hundred dollars

Now that\'s a pretty cool toy! I hope its available in the Philippines!

 

It looks ridiculous but it's kind of got a cheesy charm to it. If I were an upper middle class parent with one or two kids who already have a bunch of "regular" transformers to play with, I would no doubt buy this as a sort of flashy special toy that stands out for special occasions.

Anyone else feel this is in poor taste?

"Transformers was a 25 min toy commercial disguised as a cartoon!"

It's hard to deny those statements when you're literally paying the movie actors to plug the toys.

Why not pay a non-RotB actor to plug the toys, instead? It's not like the face matters; only the level of celebrity. But I guess the RotB actors are just cheap and easy to use.  

 

Kinda annoyed they didn't have Mirage instead of Bumblebee, but otherwise it's an ok promo
