Very good beast mode honestly, you can go either biped, or quadruped. Looks compact and adorable.


Gappy side, you can run through him with Spear of Longinus and he won't feel a thing.


Gun mode looks very convincing, and the transformation is more involved than say, Cheetor or Rhinox (imo). I don't know if this gun mode is a reference, but it kinda looks like G1 Optimus's gun?


Pretty sure this is not what they meant by "handling yourself" but ymmv.

Anyway great review! I'm thinking of collecting all of these little Battle Masters and I'm definitely digging Primal Jr. Love that he can pull a standard gorilla pose.

Yeah, out of all so far, Optimus Gunrilla seems to be the best for me.

His peg is hidden on his back (unlike Skullcruncher's out in plain sight), his transformation is a bit more involved (unlike Cheetor/Wolf), and his gun mode is very convincing.

But I still love them all and planning to get them all (at least one that's available in single pack or one that comes in pair that I loves, like Scorponok)

 

Right now I'm torn between Rhinox and Skullcruncher as my fav, but I'm eyeing munky gun and chainsaw wolf. Needless to say, these little dudes are definitely the one thing I'm excited for the most from mainline besides some of the Deluxes and Voyager Primal. Can't wait to get this one!

This looks surprisingly fun and nicely detailed in both modes. I'll be purchasing this for sure! Thanks for the review. Shocked you were able to randomly purchase it. I hope it hits store shelves here in the states soon. I'm loving voyager Primal so far, and I'm looking forward to what the leader figure can do even better.

Man I love this figure. I ended up having to get it off ebay because I have a trip on wednesday and I couldn't find this guy anywhere. Anyways, I love it. Detail and posability is excellent for such a small thing, although it would feel complete if he had elbows of some sort.

 

I found one today and he's by far the best Battlemaster so far. Figured out he made for some passable shoulder cannons for the 2-pack Primal.







Also, anyone have any ideas or theories what the little tabs on the back of the arms are or were for? My first thought was maybe some trashed engineering to lock the legs in place when in gun mode, but I don't see any remnants on the legs to indicate that.

 

No idea, same with how you can lock the Skullcruncher's tail into his head to make a pincer mode.

I was wondering that too! Especially since I decided to figure out the transformation myself. I wonder if the SS Leader Primal will have some functionality with this cause I don’t see anything on the mainline voyager.
