Would been nice if this actually had the shell to make him rodimus. Dark hot rod does look cool through.

 

Because the Kingdom Commander Roddy Prime mold is fantastic and any opportunity to use it should be seized upon.

Personally I'd rather save that mold for Primus

I SUPER agree with still wanting just the Unicronus

Rodimus Unicronus "is" SG Hot Rod / Rodimus Prime in the same way that Scourge and Nemesis Prime are "the same." Pointedly, the faction symbols. SG Hot Rod is a (SG) Autobot and has the super-'stache as his normal face. Rodimus Unicronus, while also an "evil Hot Rod" is specifically a corrupted (good) autobot Hot Rod that wears the Decepticon emblem. His Hot Rod face is a direct copy of normal Roddy, with an optional mouthplate (depending...) but no mustache. Only his full Rodimus Unicronus form has the stache (and Visor eye).
Fanon name I use to distinguish him as a separate character, portmanteau and play on words, Nemesis Rodimus >> NemRod. I know the modern connotation, but the older etymology I find very fitting for a knight of Unicron, having a rebellious nature and his purpose being a hunter of matrix-bearers.
Outside of that, other names I would consider:
Rodimus Rex
Roadimus
Venator Rex
... thinking "Venator" being a title kinda like Prime... or Darth for Star Wars fans...

...what? SS86 Hot Rod came out in 2021. I got it a month or two after it hit retail.

MF is literally named Wee Woo.

 

Damn! I forgot about this guy for a moment. He looks amazing.
Smart of them to use this superior and cheaper mold.

 

I like it. But l wish the figure was a little bigger.

 

Feel like he could have benefitted from a new headsculpt all together rather than just a slightly retooled facesculpt. But this is one of the better SG-based figures released.
