I like KO's. And I liked the freedom to buy what I want on Ebay. The freedom to make my own choices. The variety of different sellers & the chances to get a really low price. The freedom to leave negative feedback if a buyer doesn't pay. But that's all gone now. They just screwed everything up. It was fine the way it was. If it's not broke, DON'T FIX IT!!!!

    Ebay:
Now maybe, just maybe I can shop for cassttes without the "Is this a KO" question ruling me.

Also I think this might be tied into the animated prime KO that was revealed the other day. I'm sure I wasn't the only one to email hasbro over it. The real deal isn't even at retail yet. Sheesh.

Every post I see of yours is negative.

Is life so bad for you that you must bring everyone else down?

I understand if the KO ban from ebay bothers you, but it seems like every post you make is a complaint. Relax

I'm still hoping that the KO Sunstreaker and Wheeljack toys that were promised slip through the net. My KO Mirage sits happily with the legitimate reissues and originals and his origins don't bother me one bit. It's just a toy.

Well if Hasbro would have listen to their fans and re-released all the G1 over the years they wouldn't have a KO problem. It's Hasbros own damn fault!

Every post on this board has to be happy happy joy joy at all times. Every new toy that comes out is always "awesome" "pure love" and "made of win" no matter what it is. Not every toy can be that way. Not every epsiode of a TV show can be that way. Some Are "suck", "lame" & "crap". Whenever somebody posts negative comments they get ganged up on & kicked around until they finally give up or a flamewar starts & they end up getting warned or banned.

Life is positive + negative. But this artificial "positive only" BS you see on these boards really bothers me. It's not "real", it's not natural. People are afraid to post their true feelings on here. I've seen it happen for years. Just look what happned with the 2007 movie, Botcon, FP, the collector club, Botcon Thundercracker Dirge & Thrust & now Animated. If you don't support those things 100% you get jumped on, ganged up on, flamed, insulted & pushed right out of a thread. The members here take your right to free speech & your own personal opinion away from you (like you're trying to do to me right now). It hasn't only happened to me, I've watched threads where others tried to post their "true" & "honest" opinions on a subject & got slammed. So I say FUCK this artificial "positive only" horse crap! I'm gonna post what I think on a subject & any anal retentive jackass that can't handle it can can just choke on it! Keep it REAL people! For everybody that doesn't agree with me, there are those that do! To put it in fanboy jargon that you'll understand, we can't all be goody goody Autobots, some of us are Decepticons! Some of us don't play nice.

And now on subject, anybody that wants to buy these KO's is gonna have a hard time now. What's "positive" about that? A couple of you are annoyed because when you search ebay you have to look through the KO listings. Oh poor babies. Now when somebody like me is actually looking for the KO's they're not gonna be there. They're still out there in the world, it's just gonna be harder to find them. So you know where you stick your "positive"!

...and you reinforce his point(as if it's the first time it's been brought up).

I for one will be glad when cheapo KO's aren't available. It takes away money from a business that could re-invest it into making more new toys.

I like Ko's I wouldn't have my Wst thrust and dirge with out them.(Takara never made them in the first place)(Same with the wst dinobots) For me it depends on the KO. I don't mind KO's of old toys that Hasboro and Takara may never reissue. They are also great for my kitbashes. Now some of these like the KO animaited prime before the regular animated came out is a little much, but it really depends on the KO.

    QFT.

And who wants to come to a board where's there's a constant overcast of negativity? Ppl have a right to their opinions, and if one doesn't like a toy or agree with something they have a right to express their feelings on the matter. However, it is the way you express those feelings that sets the tone.

Back on point, if you like KO's, great! Not all of them have been removed from ebay, and there are other avenues of getting them I'm sure. I'm not one who buys KOs, though I do think some of them look cool and have interesting color schemes that you wouldn't ordinarily see on an legitimate release. Since, I really don't care to collect KOs I'm not disappointed many of them have been removed from their site.

Not wishing to start a slanging match but in total honesty I despair when I see your sig in a thread because I know the negative response that will follow, some people dont like certain things others do, it doesnt make them cry babies or the like, theres nothing wrong with positivity especially when it involves a hobby maybe you should start to look on the bright side of life rather than the dark you may find its quite nice.

Regarding all of the arguing going on here... why does'nt EVERYONE see BOTH SIDES! YES! It is good that people will be able to know that they will only find legitimit items and NO! It is bad that people won't be able to find KO's as easy now! See both sides of the issue and BAM! No more argument!

    Ebay:
Take that you knock off bastards!!!!!:) :) :) :bay

Seriously though, while the members of this board for the most part know how to spot a KO, your average mom and dad don't. Also people just getting into the hobby might get burnt, so I am glad ebay is helping make things right and easier for people. I know it sucks for the people who buy them, but I am sure the sellers will find a way to bring you their product. Kudos to ebay:)

    Ebay:
Hmm..there you go well said. anyway it's all abt choices.

For ppl who always wanted to buy the genuine stuffs, this makes it much more easier for them. but for some of us who are a little bit cash-strapped i can understand how they feel as the choices now are gonna be limited. as for me i swing both ways. if i have the dough no doubt i would certainly purchase the genuine ones but there are times during those lean months, i'll buy a ko or two.

See, not too many people agree with this, but I do, especially the whole bashing thing. I enjoy the freedom of purchasing a KO for the purpose of bashing...that way I do not destroy a perfectly original item and still have the mold to F-with. It makes me feel better to do something on the cheap, and if I screw up I can always replace it w/ out the worry of wasting $$$ on an original item.

I also agree with the fact that if the seller states that it is a KO item up front and they are not trying to scam you...is ok. As I stated, KO items have been around FOREVER!!!! Not just TFs but EVERYTHING. And if the item is no longer in print by Hasbro, Takara...why the F not? I don't want to pay out to butt for something I'm just gonna dremel and sand and cut apart. I have the same feeling for Videogame ROMS. You can't stop it.

On the other hand, I do agree that those who try to pass off KOs as originals get a FAIL on life. But this change, as stated by several others, will only make it harder to spot KOs as those who want to sell KOs will continue to do so by claiming them as originals.

eBay will screw us all either way...

There isnt really 2 sides to it, ebay are only enforcing the law, you just cant copy other peoples products and stick their tradmarks all over them and then sell them, its copyright infringement regardless of the age old argument over who owns the molds etc.

I dont have a problem with KO's, some people do particularly trading standards so I guess this was going to happen sooner or later.

I'm kinda glad this happened. After Hasbro had A3U pull their stuff off their website its only fair to have ebay treated the same way. The law is the law and what applies to one business should apply to all.

    hello everyone,

Rizuan PMed me about this thread, I read it when it was still only 1 page.

I remember thinking that this is a good thing, I still think its a good thing. These "clone" type fakes that try and imitate the real thing or just have new colors/materials have never been interesting to me...i do have a set of the early cassette releases I got as a gift but have never bought any of these....i wish those companies would just go away. Do you know the reason they are priced so high? It's because Zhong Jin sells them wholesale for really high prices, they are all about profiting off of fans.

The thing I am interested in is really old or obscure fakes, sometimes the uglier the better. These were made for less fortunate children to play with and enjoy and when they were released they were very cheap. The fun of old bootleg collecting is the thrill of the hunt and making new discoveries. Because of their cheap-consumer nature these often don't survive the test of time and get really tough to find a couple years after the release. The fan community has done a good job of documenting almost every Transformers products ever released, with bootlegs I am always finding something new and exciting. And 95% of the time you can't use "bootleg", "knockoff", or "KO" as ebay searches to find these so I don't think these new ebay rules will affect me and probably the 4 other people who really care about these things, lol.

I may be one of the few to still call these "bootlegs". Early in the 2000's ebay did the same thing they are doing now except it was a massive sweep of toys labeled "bootleg". But as stated in previous posts, the fans will always find new ways to get what they want.

And I'm normally very low-key about my bootleg finds but here are some goodies a lot of people probably have never seen, these are the weird things i look for sometimes even using general keywords like "robo*". Miniaturized scorponok and oversized Snapdragon w/Zyuranger (Old school, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) heads =D
