Yeah I don't know this post here didn't update with a comment I saw elsewhere.

Mine came in the same size box, and the packing material was around Grimmy's box. No issues.

I'd look to the shipping company, unless you're saying they didn't wrap that material around the box?

Edit: oh, and if you were looking to keep the packaging and it came damaged, that sucks, and I'm sorry to hear it.

Initially I did for Shattered Glass, but now I'm realizing I ain't got the space, and the figures themselves tell their own story. Plus the comics.

 

Am I the only one who didn\'t realize that the Gub could attached to his Dino Arms IN ROBOT MODE?

Mine arrived yesterday. This is… uh, an unusual purchase for me. A little impulsive. Basically because I missed out on this mold earlier. And I realized this is a classic. Packaging felt a little disappointing. He was just slumped over in there without a blister pack nor any clear plastic. Hasbro can't move away from this fast enough. Too bad that it doesn't look great for box display.



I like the coloring. I'll never be collecting large Titan figures. So I'll never have a Trypticon. But the Trypticon colors look fantastic.



I find Grimlock to be rather large. And I mean almost out of scale to my eyes. But I may not realize how large he must have been in the cartoon. But I feel like this is almost comparing CHUG to Masterpiece scale.

One of the criticisms of the recent Tarn is that he seems a bit undersized. I have to say, next to Grimlock, it seems like Grimlock could stuff Tarn into a locker.



He even towers over MMC Severed Geist. My only other Shattered Glass character. Not a line I care about by itself.



My only other Grimlock is my old G1 figure. Which goes right back into its padded container after this.



It's disappointing that he only comes with his double-barrel gun. (Although I like the paint apps.) He should be all about the melee. He should come with a sword or giant axe or something.



I bought this because it appeals to me as a collector. Not that I had a burning need to add it. But he is a pretty cool cool looking figure.

I love this mold, and this deco is absolutely gorgeous. I've got to be more budget wary these days, so I was going to pass on this guy in favour of pre-ordering Armada Megatron. But this guy is out now, and I reckon he'll be much more limited than Armada Megs, so I think I'm gonna bite the bullet.

I forgot we were getting the tiger strip G2 deco! Can't wait for that one as well!

 

It's from the Movie Advanced Series and a Transformers Expo exclusive, alongside AOE Nemesis Prime. He was also (briefly) featured in the promo comic for the expo.

 

Uh, no, they're not. They're all just repaints on available G1 molds. Even when they do have the correct mold available they don't use it (Laser Optimus was around when they made UM)

Blaster is the only who is truly accurate to the source material, with Jetfire being close enough.

 

Technically true, but I wouldn't say that the original toys were definitive creative choices made for the line, FunPub was just working with what they could and also just using what molds were available to them at the time. If they could have had something like this SS Grimlock mold instead of the Classics, then they would have certainly picked the SS Grimlock. Same with having actual molds for someone like Soundwave, I bet they would have most certainly rather have had an actual Soundwave toy to use instead of just a painted up Universe Ironhide.

 

I respect your opinion but I strongly disagree. Not all molds match up with their 16+ year old counterparts for obvious reasons. Other than that, they have been spot on. Not sure what more they could have done.

 

They're the designs that were used in the comics and described in the text stories, which does in fact make them the definitive SG designs. The whole pick 'n' mix mold usage was part of the charm of SG, it made the characters more unique instead of just all being generic evil clones of their positive polarity counterparts.

To SG fans, these designs are iconic. I'm not saying these figures are bad, they're just not something that I, as a SG fan, care about.

You disagree?... This isn't an opinion lmao, they LITERALLY do not look like their original SG designs, that is an immutable fact.

"What more could they have done?" Make Magnus actually accurate since they had the mold to do so? Other than that I don't care because this line was never going to be accurate since they don't have the molds available. It's just a repaint line, and it's not for me. The only SG figs I have bought are the ones that aren't supposed to be SG characters (Slicer, Flamewar, maybe gonna get Delta depending on what happens with this rumoured Commander UM).

 

I have no idea what the hell you're going off about. I certainly wasn't complaining about the condition of Hasbro's box for Grimlock. I was just goofing around about the weird brown slotted cardboardy cushioning material. I'm sorry that my attempt at humor didn't come through for you.

(And yeah, of course I've taken him out of the box. He's a big honking Grimlock in wonderful colors and is already a helluva lot of fun.)

It could be argued that Soundwave is accurate to his Ehobby toy. Which is canonically a body he was given in the better SG universe.

No. As stated already, all purple is painted.
