Watch there be some existing connection between the Maximals and Earth. Because goodness knows that an alien race of robots somehow can't exist without the damn Earth in these movies.

And if the mech suit isn't a plot hole...how does Mirage basically pull it out of his ass? Why would a Cybertronian have the ability to form a suit of armor from their own body, to fit around a smaller lifeform not even native to Cybertron? Like, that's Wheeljack inventing shit, not something legit implied in the movie to be pulled out of Mirage's ass based on his comment about it.

I’m guessing you’re not a fan of Verity and Miko using Apex armor to keep up with the Autobots crew huh?

the movie is hardly out and you’re already taken the piss on split second shots of the humans doing any but be useful for once. Then again these back and forth tends to produce a lot of burnout…
    :music

The fact that the makers knew about the core suits at all is some high tier nerd reference. The modern flair to me enhances the experience and a departure from the weird 80s diving suit of the original.

Do not even get me fucking started on Miko, or Transformers Prime in general. Absolute garbage fire in its own right but that's a subject for a different thread.

Verity, at least, proved her worth beyond simply needing a supersuit designed for her. She's the one who brings down Overlord in LSOTW by giving him an existential crisis ("Megatron forgot you even existed") instead of actually going toe-to-toe with him.

When this movie is promoted as being more about the robots...and then a human is literally jumping around like Master fuckin' Chief in the middle of the final battle, I'm going to call that shit out.

I mean, that is technically how it works in Halo. The Spartan armor goes really far in making the Spartans actually be Spartans. And from the bits we seen, it doesnt seem like Noah is doing anything that requires any real training.
Implying that's a bad thing at all.

I'd prefer if our main hero sat in an armchair and ate cheetos.

No one has to if they don't feel it's worthwhile. Personally, I'm not seeing it either. It doesn't look like something I would enjoy.
In the same regard, constantly crapping on it and stirring up issues in a thread dedicated to movie stuff is ill advised.
Everyone can take that however they want.

Precisely. That’s why many of us here have no problem with anyone simply voicing any negative opinion only a handful of times. But seeing someone repeat themselves almost ad nauseam in every new relevant thread can be draining, especially if you disagree. Obviously it isn’t against any rules but I think that’s why arguments and such start, especially when it comes to the movies :(

Spartans are also surgically enhanced with augmentations that connect them to the MJLONIR armor so the suit moves with their thoughts and not simply body motion. It is literally part of them.

So unless the suit Noah gets is going to worm its way into his brainstem...no, it's not similar at all.

I was told the same about TLK.

    Look how that turned out.

I've given all of these movies a chance.

1 out of the 6 of them turned out to be really decent, I think a fairly negative bias towards them at this point has been more than earned.

Totally agree. There's zero problem with thinking something looks bad or not wanting to see it. I personally think that Flash movie looks atrocious and have no plans to see it. But I don't hang out on DC forums constantly talking about how bad I think it looks. I might say something about it here and there, but I largely just ignore it since I'm simply not interested.

What I don't get is the people who show up here daily just to talk about how bad ROTB looks. I mean, isn't the whole point of fandom to come together and celebrate stuff we love? If you only show up to criticize stuff, it's essentially anti-fandom. Which isn't the point of a fansite.

Like, imagine showing up to a car show just to talk about how much you hate cars and think horses are a superior form of travel. Why even bother showing up to the car show? Why not attend a horse show instead since that's clearly where the person's interest lies?

If Knight was still around you would have a point.

But he's not, so you don't.

Instead we have a director who outright said that this film was trying not to step on the toes of the Bayverse, which basically means that for all intents and purposes, the movie is treating the bayverse as canon so as to not contradict it. That's a deal breaker for me, because the Bayverse is a dead-end narrative so why should I give a shit about movies that pretty much are going to go nowhere?

Here's a little comedy to break the tension in here: I called out someone on Twitter over the super short snippet of Mirage taking a shot in the back protecting Noah. They were making post after post of how that snippet absolutely positively showed Mirage's death and nobody should watch it or talk about it.
Me being me, I called them out over their painful overdramatics all in the name of boosting their site hits, and then I hinted clips aren't all they appear to be.
They blocked me. My first ever twitter block. :lol
