I would assume anyone buying multiples could just sell the clear prime for at least half the cost.

that’s actually an excellent idea. I’m guessing they’re going for a prime version of this?

If you look closely at the blue Optimus, the blue portion is literally the blue marble. If you compare the marble and the optimus you will see it. There is a distinctive "rectangle" in the marble image. You can see it in the optimus image as well.

Agreed, but LEGO is also the plural of LEGO. No such word as “legos” or “legoes.”

Yes, but it's the Midwest. We add an S to everything, even when we aren't trying to denote plural. Now excuse me while I go to Walmarts.

I don't know if it is referencing anything specific but to me clear blue plastic means hologram or ghost.

In my case, it'll go on a bookshelf

I figured it was in reference to G1 episode 1 where Teletraan scans all the Earth vehicles to repair/revive everyone aboard.

It's literally the baseline of Lego mountain building. While there are other methods, 99.9999999% of all Lego mountains you see will be based on that same basic design. Heck, I've got a couple of them on my hobby table right now that look the same. It's quick and fun to build, and looks great if you pour in some alternate colors. Different shades of gray / browns / or greens.

The Lego aspect is interesting and I can’t wait to see what the more creative people do to expand on this set

Eww. It looks like it’s made from legos.

I’d have bought this if it was just an accurate-ish sculpt. I’m not touching something that visually looks like this. gaps, individual pieces and exposed studs. Gross

I can kind of understand people's distaste for the Lego aspect, as someone who's always wanted a large model of the Ark mountain base that hasn't ever seemed to get made by anyone. But in this case, I think it's really cool personally. I love legos and while it's not for everyone I can imagine having a lot of fun putting it together.

(Note: Yes, I will continue to use "legos" as plural. Do not police my dialectic. We live in a world where the logically paradoxical non-literal literal is now included in dictionaries and style guides, and where positive anymore is acknowledged as valid despite being grammatically illogical, both of which break my brain. Linguistics is descriptive, not prescriptive, and we're talking about some toy blocks people. It's not that serious. :lol  )

    Off brand bricks aren’t lego.

and the point of my comment is “looks” it aesthetically looks brick built. This is a problem since it doesn’t aesthetically match any of their figures.

It seems to me like a local thing? I’ve only ever heard “Legos” said by Americans. To me as a European, adding an ‘s’ to the plural sounds about as odd as someone calling a group of sheep “sheeps”.

I’m actually quite amused by it, to be honest - it’s endearingly child-like more than anything!

Just one of those odd funny quirks, I guess.

It's not an American thing, it's an English grammar thing. The "mistake" of calling it Legos comes from the fact you generally add an "s" to make something plural.

When you buy 2 Volkswagens, in Europe do you say I just bought 2 car? Or I just bought 2 cars? Do you look up at the sky at night and say look at all the star? People that don't nerd out on baby building bricks typically aren't aware that Lego is plural already.

So being that you're starting to sound condescending calling others "child-like," take into consideration the last time a lot of us played with Lego, we were 4 years old. Many have since moved on in life as adults and never looked back or cared about binding bricks made for kids, let alone the proper terminology when referring to them. To me, adults that play with building blocks is endearingly child-like and amusing. So to each his own I guess.

No, it’s definitely an American thing. The only time I’ve ever heard ‘Legos’ used is by Americans (of both US and Canadian flavours).

Mmm. You do know you’re on a forum for talking about plastic toy robots?
