I keep seeing people saying he got pushed back to add ears but I think there's next to zero chance he gets ears added to any version of his toys. Widening his head is a big consideration with the conversion engineering. I just don't see it.

Not to mention the fact that this isn’t how that works. SS Wheeljack’s design had to be finalized last year so it could have enough time to get produced, packed, and shipped.


Perhaps the real reason SS Wheeljack and Nightbird got pushed back(assuming this wasn’t always the plan) is to allow ROTB product room to breath as not compete with itself. Remember, the original plan was that all of the mainline figures were supposed to be released this time last year and that Studio Series would come in 2023. Now, we have all of it coming out in the same year.

Hell, it’s possible that retailers might have even asked Hasbro to shake up case assortments to create more breathing room.

However, I do feel like if them coming out in wave 2 was always the plan, then they should have been samples or something out by now. So the change to make them be into wave 4 probably happened last year and the initial info we got was just outdated. Something that happens a lot and I don’t think enough people realize that.

I'm pretty sure that Pablo guy impersoning energon downshift from that damned nostalgia bait intro to the Bumblebee Movie is based on energon Cliffjumper, which is confusing because there was a character based off G1 Cliffjumper as in the movie. This would not be the first time people confused downshift for his best friend Cliffjumper, as in the cgi anime for energon as halfway through the english dub of energon they decided to erroneous flip downshift and Cliffjumper dispite them getting the names correct in the beginning.

just in case your new, I'm memeing. downshift and cliffjumper had their names switched in the first few episodes of their appearances in Energon (english dub), cliffjumper is the dunebuggy and downshift is the one inspired by good ol' pablo.

Yes, Ironhide turned from a red van to a black pickup. Ratchet turned into a green off road ambulance. Jazz wasn't a Porsche and Bumblebee became a yellow Camaro. The other characters all changed, like Sideswipe becoming a silver Corvette concept car.

I still can't stand this Urkel looking doofus as Wheeljack. ABC should sue for stealing a character and Jaleel White should be getting residuals.

I feel like that head would seriously interfere with transformation. The current head barely clears the windshield during conversion as is. Don't get me wrong - I want a different head for him. But I've already just decided his name is "Pablo" and he's a Junkion in my collection.

 

You got to pop it off for transformation yes, but it’s a sacrifice I’m more than will to pay. And if the head fits will do the same for the SS toy if it doesn’t have the fins.

 

Are the mainline deluxes getting released in the US, or are we only getting them in the 3-packs?
