Megatron Origin was originally intended for Dreamwave, where Ratbat was established as a non-cassette guy and the Ultracon's leader. When Dreamwave shut down and Origin came over to IDW, it got carried over

Yea. That’s how retcons work. The Welcoming Committee is Nacelle, Hotlink, Bitlink and Sunstorm. And even so. Him being a tetrajet in a prewar/PreEarth subline makes a lot of sense and tbh it’s a better mold than ER anyways.

 

They are doing a decent run. They’re milking the shit out of the better seeker mold. ER is cool and all but it lacks a lot of articulation compared to the tetra jet mold. And don’t bring up “but but the kibble”. At least the mold has a waist and doesn’t break like some ER seekers

 

I think Sunbow Tracks looks goofy as hell and shouldn't be interpreted too literally, like most Sunbow designs. The MP figure with the real roof on the chest has much more flattering proportions:

Yes, but he's supposed to be a Voyager, so I doubt that'd be the case unless he's a small figure with extra parts that bump him up to Voyager that aren't included here. But I was thinking that that design looks a lot like his Animated Cybertronian mode.

 

Objectively incorrect. It has better articulation, but it only has better articulation because the entire figure is a fraud. It's a glorified shellformer that doesn't even try to mask the fact it is a shellformer. It's also not even accurate to the alt mode it is trying to replicate. It looks more like a Viper from BSG than the Tetrajet from G1.

I'm not mad, I'm just a bit disappointed. Hopefully the colors at least look good.

 

Nacelle's whole visual thing is being prototype Thrust though. No one really cared about "The no-name dark blue Seeker running in the background" or even noticed him until we got the tale of 'Yeah later down the track he hooked himself up with the prototype wings for the coneheads'. He's just an excuse to get prototype Thrust colours onto a character, just like how half the G1 Gobots set is 'hey what if we stuck these old prototype minibot colours onto new characters'

A Siege Nacelle is an absolute waste given Nacelle's entire thing is being prototype Thrust and there's so many Seekers who'd work from the Siege mold with no issues, like Sunstorm

 

Meh. There’s nothing in his bio or fiction to indicate that he was supposed to be in that episode. It’s all writer intent and not actually IN the fiction. You can all accept it, but I don’t have to.

Regardless, it sounds like it’s gonna be the Siege mold anyway, so he’ll lose what made him special (being the prototype Thrust from Thundercracker.)

Yknow, I just want to point out, they're probably still going to do a er repaint for nacelles.

Yall remember deep cover? That blue sideswipe? The one who got an earth mode and a siege mode?

I bet they'll do the Siege one, and then an er one, preferrebly tricking a few into buying both, just like deep cover.

One thing I've been thinking about, with the possibility of Orion Pax using the Impactor mold, is the listing says that it includes his axe. Impactor's ability to transform his hand to hide and bring out the blade may make it a "Prime" candidate.

 

And as a whole, that origin for Ratbat was probably developed as an homage to his temporary stint as Decepticon leader in the Marvel comics. Just, done in a way that made more sense.

 

And all of them would still be so much better as ER redecos.

He didn't. He got two Siege releases. One in his correct black deco and one in a weird inverted blue deco for the Netflix subline.

 

Yeah, sure, right after Siege Sunstorm and Bitstream (to complete the trio). Also wait for ER Tigertrack and Deepcover (we got TWO Siege ones, but no ER… and we’re still waiting for MP on him too).
