I don’t think I could do that, I just winged the whole project. I don’t want to give bad info and cause people to ruin their figure. Thank you!
I ended up starting over on Wheeljack’s chest because I didn’t like how the red turned out. I’m going to let it dry, add some green, and fix up some of the grey. the windshield was also messed up a bit, so I might do what I did to trailbreaker and just paint the whole thing blue. I also finished up Core Skywarp:
Here’s Wheeljack basically done: just need to add the 539 to the car It looks pretty bad on camera, but the imperfections are way less noticeable in person. I also didn't really like this figure to much in the first place and I have no motivation to continue working on it.
I added some paint to ER Prime I’m currently using superglue but I don’t know how long it’ll last. Can you explain more how to insert a pin or screw? Thanks.
I don’t think I’ve talked about this before, but here’s my ER Ratchet from the shattered glass figure inspired by @ghostyurei. I do plan to eventually fix up the white on the arms and legs, but for now I’m happy. I’ve also printed some new wheels I found online, and some new feet from the lazyeyebrow.
Pfft, imagine owning a ratchet... *Cries in online exclusive* This is a really cool custom. All of these are! You have some talent
The channel called Toy Polloi on YouTube has great tutorials on this kind of thing. He often uses a pin vice as a tool to begin the process of using a pin when joining toys back together. There are several videos where he uses this method to fix the limbs on old toys. Here he is using a pin vice to repair a vintage Mirage with Lego bits. Here he is fixing an old StarWars figure that has snapped limbs. To restore a pin part that has stress on it, like a joint for a leg, will take some finesse.
I recently opened Buzzworthy Cliffjumper, and while initially I was happy with the colors, it just looked to plain. I colored the windows to look more like his render and added some minor details to his grill and back section of the car
Here's my custom Studio Series Sidwswipe and updated Ironhide! I haven't done much to Ironhide besides adding some more grey to the chest, removed some grey paint from the knees, and made his eyes and headlights a nicer blue: Sideswipe on the other hand got basically every part of his robot mode painted up. I also did the foot mod to make him more movie accurate.
Here is a combiner wars brawl repainted to be more cartoon accurate. They grey turned out lighter than I was hoping, but I'm still really happy with the results. With my other combaticons, all I need is Swindle!
my friend gave me Pablo’s head because he didn’t like how it looked. So I added some paint to try and make it look better:
You really brought out the intricate sculpting on the face!! I think I’ll give mine a good wash and dry brush combo after seeing this!!!
not my image thanks! good luck on yours! Also, just for fun, if you put a tr headmaster head inside wheeljack's head you can do stuff like this:
been a few months! today i return with a custom rotb optimus prime! ya know, at first i hated how different prime looked in the new movie when compared to bbm, but over time, the design’s grown on me. what i did -added a lot of paint to be more accurate to the movie design -cut off the toes of some upgrade feet i found online and glued them to the originals. -took off arm and chest kibble and the side skirts -removed the pieces on top of the arms and glued them to the chest (only downside is the backpack no longer tabs in) -printed and painted an arm canon i purchased online -printed and painted two new heads i purchased online -for some reason the lower jaw on the unmasked head was super low and made the it look like prime was screaming, so i cut it off and moved it up. then i cut off a super tiny piece from an earthrise decoder, painted it blue and turned it into Prime’s goatee, still not super happy with how it looks, but it’s still an improvement -also used more of an earthrise decoder to create Prime’s truck eyebrows ill show vehicle mode eventually
