All of these Bayverse movies have been an absolute mess, and that's not even up for debate. You can like them all you want, but trying to say people aren't allowed to complain about how these bloated, incoherent messes are essentially the face of the franchise for the general public is fairly rude. Yeah, some people moan too much about how any difference from G1 or something is terrible, but even ignoring them, these movies are consistently just loud balls of nothing. It's sad that THIS is what gets to represent Transformers, but that's how Hollywood-led adaptions tend to go.

    Enjoy robot toys, either way.

Damn straight.I enjoy these movies time to time, but for god sake when it goes bad it really goes BAD. I put tlk as background noise the other day and man when the middle came up I just switched to music, jesus christ these movies can be watchable but man can it give you a headache with it's shitty ass dialogue and it's even shittier pacing.

Ok I have to ask; do you think the claim I was making was that nameslapping is literally just as bad as a guy vandalizing my house?

Because this is a regular enough response that I have to wonder if people just don’t get what I’m trying to say, or if they’re intentionally misinterpreting what I’m saying, since it’s easier to argue against a fake ridiculous argument that you made up for your opponent.

I am not attempting to say that nameslapping is as bad as a guy egging my house. If you think I’m crying and screaming and hitting my head into the wall because another character got nameslapped, you’ll be disappointed to know that the point of my argument was simply “just because a certain thing that annoys you has been going on for a while, doesn’t mean you aren’t allowed to be annoyed when it happens again.”

The whole “it’s not that serious bro” argument doesn’t really work either. I mean, yeah? Obviously this isn’t a serious topic like politics, religion, racism, etc. Nobody’s life is in serious danger just because Wheeljack looks like a dumb nerd now. But this is a transformers discussion board, so it shouldn’t really be surprising that some people are going to have a negative opinion on something. A transformers discussion board is literally the exact place for this kind of thing.

Again, it’s one thing if somebody has a Chris-Chan-Blue-Arms-style freak out over transformers, but I highly doubt most people on these board are getting as heated as they may seem just because of transformers. If anything, I’d say people tend to get the most frustrated over the state of online discourse, rather than being angry specifically about designs being not G1 enough. When you keep getting called a GeEwUnNeR for not liking certain things, it tends to get you riled up.

(Sorry if this long ass post seems cluttered and all over the place, I’ve been typing it over the course of a day since I just got home from college and have been more concerned with relaxing than typing yet another essay.)

You knew the point you were making, I knew the point you were making, and they knew the point you were making, they just wanted to be difficult (and attack-y) because they didn't like what you had to say. *GASP!* *HORROR!*

The only thing missing was telling them where to stick it. Maybe they can get a clue where to when they're outside with that glass of water and all the grass they can touch. Google Maps doesn't have street view for one's ass, it seems.

I've long since learned the health of ignoring things you aren't interested in but it's impossible to be on this site for the next month without seeing some ROTB news, and this headline kind of boggled my mind.

We're all guilty of doing the "X meets Y" cliche in descriptions to people unfamiliar with what you are discussing, but it's usually done using two moderately different things. The Mask meets Bugs Bunny is just Bugs Bunny ×10...boy Davidson sure is wit to behold.

That’s what I’m asking. I think it’s time for Hasbro to change things up. I will always love G1 (…well Seasons 2 and 3. Season 1 is kinda lame imo.) but it’s time to move on. Time to take risks and create new designs and ideas for shows and movies to bring in new fans.
