New info: A short synopsis for DUNE Part Two has emerged: "Part two will focus on Paul assembling a massive Fremen army to fight the ruthless Harkonnen, as he essentially becomes a mythical 'messiah' figure for the denizens of Arrakis." According to Production Weekly, Florence Pugh and Austin Butler as Princess Irulan and Feyd are confirmed for Dune: Part Two, appearing on the cast list. Dune: Part Two principle photography is currently scheduled for July 18 at ORIGO Studios, Budapest. There is also a rumour that Mads Mikelsen and Christian Bale are considered for the role of the Padishah Emperor. If it's true I hope Bale gets the role, Mads is in too many movies as the bad guy.
Christopher Walken to Play Emperor Shaddam IV in ‘Dune: Part Two’ – The Hollywood Reporter Christopher Walken (Batman Returns, A View to a Kill) will play Emperor Shaddam IV, the ruler of the known universe, and the one who sent the Atreides family to Arrakis in the beginning.
Austin Butler's Role in Dune: Part Two Confirmed Austin Butler (Elvis) will play Feyd-Rautha in part two of director Denis Villeneuve's adaptation. Feyd-Rautha is the favored son of Baron Harkonnen (Stellan Skarsgard), leader of the rival house to House Atreides, and more cunning than his brutish brother, "Beast" Rabban (Dave Bautista), who eventually becomes the primary foil and antagonist to Paul Atreides (Timothee Chalamet).
I really liked the first part and really looking forward to the second - I hope it will be even better. I love the book series and the game
Dune Part 2 Has Cast Its Lady Margot Denis Villeneuve casts Spectre/No Time to Die actor Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot for Dune: Part Two.
Sorry it’s not a very good trailer. It establishes nothing about the movie, or the stakes. I am familiar with Dune so I know what I am looking at, great for a Dune fan I guess, unfortunately this dovetails with the biggest complaint about part 1; That Villeneuve is conveying little to nothing to the audience. Not an encouraging approach right out of the gates for round 2.
November is still a ways away, which means at least one more trailer is forthcoming (that will reveal more of the plot/story). I know it wasn't labeled as one, but I'm chalking this one up as more of a "teaser trailer."
No. This movie finishes the first book. You can see a clip of the climactic duel in the trailer. Part 3 would be based on Dune Messiah if it gets made. The first book is by far my favourite, so I'm just glad Part 2 was greenlit and they get to complete the original story! Anything after that is a bonus.
