My first point is exactly that. These decos didn’t exist until 2009, so they’re irrelevant to the G1/Diaclone MP line. I only added that the Twins who wore those color schemes carried a pretty negative connotation— which is reason enough to forget about them altogether.

 

I don't think he designed Bee V2.

 

I'm sure XTB will do some more repaints with the orange and green in the next few years, XTB can't resist repaints.

 

I know Kenta Wakizawa was one of the members of the design team for Bee 2.0, but I’m not sure who led it. Many of the modern figures have been collaborative team efforts.

My girl arrived this morning. Yet to transform, but quite pleased so far aside from a couple of issues. Reading the backstory on these is interesting in that they give different reasons for certain items. The little figure that comes the others (aside from Skids) is a holographic decoy. For Diaburnout it's a ghost- a kind of manifestation of he split psyche/ ex pilot. Heh.

So they created a scooter for the ghost.

I'm reading that ghost is still a hologram in this context, but it reads kind of funny, probably due to the slightly wonky translation. Not a criticism. It's a creative idea and I'm enjoying it.

Another example of the differences is the scooter being a kind of scout for most of these, but actually appears to be Reboosts central unit!

I see the autobot symbols are separate stickers for this. I'm not over keen on applying stickers myself às I find it difficult to align these properly. A bit of soapy water should help, I think. (I won't do this just yet, due to issue mentioned below, just thinking ahead.) I assume they did it this way so you can choose which symbol to go with. If i apply the sticker (I feel, she should have one somewhere) I'll likely go with the traditional G1. Keeps it uniform with the others, and I find the other messy. I wasn't into transformers in the G2 time-period, and I wasn't even aware the faction symbols differed before this, so not really my thing, but I think it's great it was offered as an option for the G2 fans!

I am not sure yet if i will go with the larger symbol (it seems a bit too large for that turbo bump on her bonnet*. I might go with the little one, but undecided.

Negative points:

One back wheel does not turn freely. I think that may just be an alignment thing that sorts itself out. Even if it doesn't, it is a very minor issue as I won't be vrm, vrming her around that much.  

Bigger issue: there is quite a big scratch on the roof. I will report it to the seller, Robotkingdom. I might just accept a partial refund, rather than going through the hassle of returning it for another, (I live in England) but I will see what the process is. While the scratch is quite big, it isn't especially egregious, (she's a warrior. It could be battle-damage right? ) but even these cheaper priced masterpieces are still expensive items to come with even minor damage, so a bit of recompence would be nice.

*Translation into American: bonnet: hood

 

Great you got her. May 2023 for me is still far off. Also know what you feel, my Reboost also got a small gash on the hood but did not request for a change....battle damage.... 

 

The G2 insignia looks good on Diaburnout.

Looks great but… G2? This is about as “G0” as it gets. I understand people wanting to bring it into the G1 fold, but that deco is a bit too tame for G2 and the face sculpt is pure Diaclone.

Oh well, to each their own. I would imagine there are some out there that are even tempted to make it a Decepticon.

This is Diaclone plain and simple.

Got mine the other day and she's fantastic. The black paint is slick and doesn't seem to be an utter nightmare for fingerprints so far. I'm debating on which emblem I might use but honestly the black paint is nice enough to just leave off an emblem. The yellow/orange/red trim details really pop and make me think that a toy-deco/remold Trailbreaker will be amazing. Having ALL the weapons is really nice and allows you to mix it up a bit to make her distinctive from her mold-mates. The new head is really well done and gives me hope that we might get a good toy-Skids. Sure, we don't get toy decos of everyone (Sunstreaker being a really notable one), but I think Japan loves the City enough to do another run. The love for the car seems high enough that I wouldn't even be shocked if they did Red Skids (not Reboost).

 

My Diaburnout arrived yesterday - the toy accurate face really completes the look and I'd love this head on a toy accurate deco - the lighter blue and toon head just don't suit it, but I picked it up to support one of my favourite childhood figures.

XTB's version remains on the MP shelf while Takara's effort just sits around the house, appropriately not fitting in with much. Diaburnout will keep him company.

 

Will we get a blue Trailbreaker to go with our Delta Magnus crew? Red Skids? Black Ironhide? Deep Cover?

 

God, I hope so….

 

I feel like Blue Trailbreaker is pretty likely. Hasbro did the deco recently over the yellow version, so I wouldn't be shocked if blue is their preference. I also feel like when the make a Hoist, it'll be an even heavier amount of new parts than the Inferno-Grapple situation (or even a whole new mold), so there's some incentive to get some more uses out of the base Trailbreaker mold. Unless they announce a toy colors/head TB, I feel like Blue is probably the next use of the mold. Red Skids might be too similar to Reboot, but Japan does freaking love the Honda City, so I could actually see it happening, but probably a toy-Skids first.

Black Ironhide and Deep Cover are not made yet as a personal attack on me, sorry.
