Eh, I actually got pretty heavily rewarded for doing the Auto-T deal. I didn't store it of course, I asked for shipment. Well I ended up getting a Blue Renet (Paid for) along with one each of the rest of the figures (Didn't pay for these). So, it isn't all bad.
I know exactly the video and the memory that comes up very strongly is that there was also a scientifically-accurate DuckTales that fixated on a similar quality. Anyway why would you do this to us?

Who are your favorite of the pack-in minifigs sidekicks? I found some 3D models of a bunch and wanted to practice my digital painting skills. Thinking about upscaling them 50% and putting them out with my Super7s if the color printing isn't too unaffordable.
I'm also tempted to try painting a 3D model of Doctor El. He has an interesting color scheme with a lot of unpainted details on the vintage toy. The box art alone suggests that he should have quite a few more colors and details. One positive is that if I DO blow a lot of time and money on him, I don't think we'll get an official release from anyone that replaces my custom. (I did misremember him as a bad guy. He's a good guy although the whole witch doctor thing isn't great PR even if they did go out of their way not to make him a bad guy and to make him white, I guess to avoid racial insensitivity concerns. Although a white guy as a tribal medicine man raises its own issues.) Oh. And I found him outside of Playmates so you can take him off the list of characters Super7 can't do because of Playmates. He's probably just off the table for cultural sensitivity reasons like the Archie TMNT comics that depict Muhammad or the Mexican stereotype Michelangelo. That said, there's a similar character in Archie named Manmouth and IDW redesigned him to look more like Doctor El, minus the tribal stuff.
So why do NECA's promo shots for Zog show the grenades over his chest strap when they can't actually connect to it?

Whelp, finally saw NECA TMNT on clearance at Walmart. They're still swimming Splinter/Shredder and Shadow Warriors 2-packs, $37.
