I guess, I have a twisted mind ... No, initially I wanted Jallguar to stay in the Breastforce as a repaint of the Beachcomber mould, but he would be just a loose figure then. I found no way to turn him into a shield or weapon that could be added (like I did with Waver for my Landcross combiner) and for Road Caesar I was still looking for an arm which needed to be black, so I combined these 2 issues and thought upa story line to justify me choice (and ease my mind).
I dunno if you’re looking for suggestions after the fact, but if you’re looking for a black Autobot from Victory to serve as an arm you could probably turn a POTP Slug into a Victory Leo. You lose the symmetry but would keep the Autobot factor. Nonetheless the combiner looks amazing as is.
Four of Leozack's team were repainted and released in Europe as the Autobot Rescue Force. They were unnamed and had no fiction so they're blank slates. There's nothing to say they weren't Leozack and the others having defected to the Autobots.
He used the Enigma of Combination to kick Jallguar out. Could’ve also been what happened to Deathcobra if you wanted to go there.
The 2 things I hadn't posted yet were of course the alt modes of Jallguar and Saber. Let start with the first one. Because I wanted Road Caeser to have 2 (almost) idential black arms, Jallguar's alt mode look a lot like Blacker's alt mode:
And last but not least Saber. Where Scattershot's robot mode is perfect to create Saber and his torso is perfect to create Road Caesar's torso, Scattershot's jet mode is far from the G1 toy. But that's a compromise I was willing to make. So I gave jet mode some characteristic coloring like the yellow/black on the nose, back wings and nose gear. And also the white/blue/white on the top fuselage. All with all, I think it doesn't look too bad, I actually like it. And here is the whole team in their alt modes:
