Oh! I was like, we’re talking Miatas now??

fun fact, I had built a full widebody NA at one point. Fully stripped interior, hard top, I wrapped it bright orange. It was pretty sick

I’m torn. I really like the original design this is homaging. I’m not in love with this particular design. I’m not saying it’s bad, just not, IMO, spectacular. But the Cybertron Optimus is more likely to see a better homage in some time (so sad MakeToys is probably dead), and that price seems incredible in today’s market.

I kinda doubt we’ll see another Cybertron Prime at MP scale any time soon (and if FansHobby does one it’ll be even further from the source material), but yeah if the leaks for 2024 Legacy are true about Cybertron Starscream, we could be seeing a more screen accurate one at CHUG scale from Hasbro within the next couple of years.

It’s really gonna depend on your preferences, but there’s no shame in waiting. Considering that T&RO have reissued TR-01 so many times and considering that TR-02 is looking to be significantly more successful, I’d be surprised if they didn’t reissue TR-02 after this first batch. Maybe redeco the mold to be more screen accurate or to emulate the original’s repaints. Either way I don’t think you’re risking much by waiting.

A repaint of one of the "Galaxy Force" version of the original toy would be cool, especially if they included the planet symbols on his shoulders. Though maybe they'd stay off like how 3rd party keeps Bot/Con insignias off.

Yeah from what I understand the planet symbols are just as trademarked as the Autobot/Decepticon symbols, so if we did see a Galaxy Force repaint, it would likely just be the extra red, black replacing blue, and blue replacing orange.

I'm going to need you to dm me a picture of that

Two things. By the stretch of my imagination, I consider this to be chug scaled. It's a reach but from what I know so far it scales pretty well with both legacy override and Metroplex. Second of all, we've alr gotten a chug Cybertron Optimus. Not a good one, but one that probably means we won't get another for 3-4 years minimum imop. Not worth the wait if you ask me, but everyone's case will differ

before I made Transformers parts, I made car parts. Is that an upgrade or downgrade?

Yeah I will say from what I've seen it scales very well with Metroplex. Override I'm not sure, I'd need to watch the show again to get a feel, but generally I consider CHUG scale as "base robot mode is roughly the same size as ER Prime."

When it comes to whether GUOP is our CHUG Cybertron Optimus, I worry that you're right, but I hope it isn't the case. Considering we're getting some more Cybertron stuff coming up and that Magnus is getting a new figure soon, I want to believe that Cybertron Optimus will get a proper update like Legacy Armada Optimus has. But I do recall a mention from the designers a while back (maybe 6 months to a year ago) that suggested GUOP was still considered the definitive CHUG Optimus when someone asked about whether we'd get Leobreaker or Wing Saber. Hopefully the hype surrounding Legacy Armada Prime has changed their minds.

I'm sure they will eventually get around and do a proper Cybertron Optimus update.

He'll probably scale fine with Metroplex (who got a considerable size bump as a Titan) but he'll probably be fairly taller than the current Override figure. Though she only went up to his chest in non-supermode so he was already bigger to begin with.

Sorry nevermind then XD. I think scale wise Guac might be ur best bet. He's a little undersized, but he matches the scale in the pic above better.

From what I gather, Override will come up to the hip of normal mode, which isn't actually that bad imop. Although supermodel will dwarf anyone. Personally I don't care that much as long as transform and rollout drops a behemoth of a Megatron

Amen to that. I'm NOT a fan of ss Optimus prime, or a lot of the other figures, but there are some gems too, such as Ironhide or soundwave. But in the case of Optimus, we've seen a good Optimus prime that utilizes real parts as you've mentioned, so I don't know if those designs are to blame as much as it is just the engineering decisions they've made

Anyone had theirs ship from ShowZ yet? Only thing keeping me from paying that balance request is wondering when they'll ship.

Buyers in China are reporting that they are paying up the balance for their pre-orders, so it should be shipping out very soon.

ShowZ prioritizes people who pay their balance earlier when shipping, so don’t wait too long.

That said mine has not yet shipped and I paid my balance a couple of months ago.
