If it weren’t for the repaints and retools, I wouldn’t be as interested in Newage. They design one base mold and then offer variants of it to fit different collections. Most of my NA figures are the EX ones, because those are more “hybrid-toy” even though they started with a toon-leaning design. I don’t mind heroic proportions, I just miss the details that the animation models omit. Add those back, and I’m often satisfied.

That’s my point in differentiating NA and MS. Magic Square essentially builds only toon-style figures. Even their repaints such as Hound MS-B31A are still very much animation designs, only with a slightly more premium look (very slightly, but enough to occasionally pique my interest).

Iron Factory, on the other hand, is a love-or-hate thing. They’re not trying to replicate a beloved cartoon or a cherished old toy— they’re going for something familiar but different. And it’s that “different” that throws some collectors off. I love most of their stuff. In fact, looked at as a percentage of their offered products, I probably find more of IF’s figures worth buying than I do NA’s.

Hrrrngg the more I look the more I want this one. I promised myself I would only get the samurai here on out.

I wonder if he's using rubber wheels? Theyre awesome on Bay Razor and would work great here I think?

Do NA/MS utilize rubber wheels? If no why havent they caught on?

I hope that they don't use rubber wheels.

I like the rubber tires because they give a more premium feel. People complain that the material degrades, but the tires on my G1 toys from 1984 are fine. Not all vehicle types need them— particularly ones this small— but for off-roaders, drag cars, F1 racers, and the like, it’s a nice touch.

I have the opposite. My G2 Beachcomber and Cliffjumper tires have crumbled to pieces.

not on any NA that i recall. but believe on MS BB/CJ had them as there were random number of mismatched spares included on some copies.

I personally think rubber tires on figures as small as these are kinda unnecessary. But to each their own.
I’m probably gonna get Brawn but skip Outback

    Love it.

I wonder if I could make some massive “brass knuckles” For him. I like to look back at the original toy bios. Brawn is listed as a demolition expert, and he can flatten a building with a punch. He doesn’t need a lot of firearms, he needs something to emphasize that he, well, packs a punch. Large fists or brass knuckles. That’s the ticket.

I dig the accessories they provide with this Brawn...shotgun just seems appropriate...is his name Resolute Defender Brawn?, or will something else pop up on the box?

Having not had a Brawn toy since I was a kid, it’s going to be incredible to own a figure that looks like the robot the fiction created in my head all those years ago, rather than how he actually looked in plastic.

It’s Siege Hound all over again!
