I'm not sure if you're being serious or not. People struggling to transform something or finding parts tricky, doesn't mean it's a qc thing.

Overall the qc seems to be excellent. People not understanding the bits might mean it's overly complicated for something simple (e.g. the ankles), but not that it's shoddily built.

I thought there was some breakage issues? Maybe I'm misremembering

A couple of people might have broken something by doing it wrong, but there's no widespread breakages (and there haven't really been since Hound, although MP52 was spotty)

I don’t think so. It’s very good overall.

I know a couple here had some paint chips though.

The QC on mine was great actually.
Wrapped to prevent scratching on the head. No paint chipping. Tight joints. Plastic feels really good. Paint apps look great too.

    Just my 2 pence

Ah, I remember now. For some reason I was thinking it was more widespread

We're the last ones getting ours in if there was a ton of QC issues we would have known well before now.

TT's vid is very good, just play it quarter of the speed and you are fine.

ps how can some one paint chip the die cast part of the crotch during transformation? I can't see the critical steps

Does that Takara Tomy video show the complete transformation? I'm asking because the one for yukikaze didn't.

Also, could somebody please post the link for that video? I'm not exactly sure what to search for on YouTube for it.

i bitch about the choice of ratchets on this guy, but that’s far from any qc concerns. i’ve come to terms that takara most likely simplified this guy for the sake of durability and playability, because for his size, a LOT more engineering could’ve been incorporated into it. compared to other mps, he is really straightforward, and i’d argue that magic square jetfire is way more complex than this guy is.

i haven’t encountered anything fragile or at risk of breaking. with any other mps or figures that have more complex transformations, users should take their time and look at each joint to understand what’s going on and how things should line up. for example, when squeezing the backpack together, some reported a loud snapping sound, but i saw that it may be because one of the red pieces need to align and slide under the center white piece, and if you don’t do that and just blindly squeeze the red pieces together, there could be a loud snap as you force the two red pieces to self-align under all that pressure.

my example probably isn’t the clearest (nor was it supposed to), but i’m just illustrating that if you blindly move and squeeze parts around, you’ll most likely break something (just ask bsf). take some time to look around and see how things SHOULD fit and align, and you’ll have much better luck.

What do you mean by the "complete" transformation? The video for Yukikaze showed everything I think? I used it and I was able to do all three modes. Why not just watch the Skyfire video and find out? It's been stated several times in this thread that the TT video is good. I'm starting to think you guys are trying to start a meme or something. Here's the link and I would subscribe because TT normally post a transformation video shortly before each MP release.

Hound, materials used. Not this one for now. A real TF Mp treasure:)

Yup. Kind of truncated but combined with the manual and getting the correct backpak/wing alignment you are good.

On the chipping, paint is paint especially the corner angles. Always a possibility.

WTF, I waited so long for this guy. transformed him and everything felt great. Picked him up to transform him back and the left waist joint felt weird. Moved the leg back and forth and his leg fell off. :(

Yeah, the wide ratchets suck, but the simplicity and playability of MP-57 is perfect. I’m usually a huge fan of complex transformations (MP-36 and MP-44 are favorites of mine), but I love just how simple his transformation is; I feel like if it were more complicated, it would be a pain because of the sheer size of him. After I noticed that white center piece on the backpack and how the red pieces fit under during my first transformation, that loud snap for me was a satisfying click! But yes, people need to pay more attention to that and the other tight tolerances there may be.

I totally agree! MP-57 is among my favorite MPs right now. He’s literally a giant playset and everything fits and snaps snugly on my copy now that I know exactly how to transform him. It’s so robust (my copy anyway) and so much fun to handle. I’m okay with the limitations of his leg articulation, but that would be the only thing I would fix.

I don't want to take the leg apart if that would void any ability to get it exchanged but I looked in the hole the leg is supposed to screw into. I don't see any threads on the inside. 20230324_220544.jpg
