Rather than try to read through 67 pages… what’s the current status on Hatchet?

Yup, that was my reading too - the person who claimed to have ordered Hot Rod seemed to genuinely have thought that they had bought Velocitron Hot Rod, not re-issue Hot Rod, despite the image on the web page.

 

I'm not talking about that.
That has already been addressed.

But we'll know for sure if VelociRod indeed was sold briefly if he shows up in hand from somebody.

 

The current status is it’s coming out at some point this year in Buzzworthy. Don’t know when.

There really haven’t been any updates since JtPrime mentioned it’s release getting moved back in December. Thread just got bumped by people complaining about the lack of updates on figures that haven’t been officially revealed and had images leaked that weren’t supposed to be released for seemingly quite some time.

I don't think that's the case, it's more so that these two were leaked WAY ahead of time, to the point physical copies haven't even reached the usual leakers. Unless the renders leaking prompted Hasbro to have a tighter grip on Hatchet and Hound.
As others have said, Hatchet and Hound are characters needed to fill out the movie casts, so them being cancelled seems unlikely

Its been 6 months...

 

I’ve seen leaks go almost an entire year before getting released... I just picked up Buzzworthy Skybyte whose stock photo was released in August. So there’s still hope for these guys!

 

I mean, all we ever saw was a leaked 3D render. Plenty of canceled figures got those.

Worry when it's been six months since we've seen a production sample.

IMHO, Earth Hound makes too much sense not to do and if the leaked listing for Detritus looks like eHobby Detritus then it's guaranteed. But they probably also can't produce both at the same time with just one set of tooling. So if Detritus is in production, Hound might not be until later.

With Hatchet...? I'm happy for people who want it if the concept we saw gets released but there are also probably better ways to do Hatchet so I don't think it's a great loss if that was just a 3D concept that never goes into production like Velocitron Hot Rod or the Monstructor retool of PotP Volcanicus or that BW Megatron that was considered from FoC Grimlock.

 

Tbh I wouldn't be mad if they canceled Hatchet in favor of making an original Hatchet mold that isn't yet another retool of Berserker.

 

Calling it now, Hasbro won't reveal these until after Detritus is shown. Possibly even in the same stream. If they show Hound first, then Target could argue that the mild belongs to them and is they want to do any repaints for the next ~3 years it has to be through them, so that's why they're holding off

 

I doubt there's only 1 single set of tooling, that would make production incredibly inefficient.

 

Detritus and Hound won't be the same. Detritus will have the Weaponiser gimmick the rest of the Junkion deluxe do

 

Doubt it considering Detritus is a legacy repaint of Hound (legacy as in the actual meaning, not the series name)
