the whole point of this subline seems to be directly recreating cancelled G2 toys* that never got a release with their intended molds' direct updates, and G2 Breakdown got a release at BotCon 1994, so i don't think it quite counts; obviously the rules are already a bit loose and that release was a very limited con exclusive, so Hasbro could put Breakdown here if this is where they wanted to put all the rest of the G2 Stunticons, but at the moment, i don't think he quite fits in

(*with of course the asterisk about Toxitron not technically being G2, but presumably being grandfathered in since his original mold was G2)

Jazz's head is the same. And yes, they're all repaints, but that's because they're based on cancelled repaints.

 

Toxitron came out fantastic, the colors work so well on this mold. Haven’t been this excited for a Transformer in a long time, finally having this deco released on a Laser Prime-mold is so satisfying.

I think maybe some important context here is that the theme of the most recent Walmart subline was "race cars" and it included a construction vehicle, an oil tanker, and two spaceships.

I get the point. I was just saying how CW Toxitron (who was in reference to the canceled Universe figure) had connections to the G2 breakdown release via funpub. To add to your point, the CW G2 Menasor set exists.

I think instead of "Unreleased G2 and alike deco toyline", this subline should be considered "Originally Canceled/unreleased G2 and alike deco toyline".

....hold up. Semi-unrelated, but wasn't toxitron buddies with the stunticons in Animated? Oh primus, imma buy all the G2 Stunticons now, aren't I? And now I wanna see CW Toxitron with the G2 Stunticons as limbs! Why you do this to me!!

 

I am very curious to see if any of this DOES end up including G1.5 (which never saw release in the US) or Takara G-2 Blocktown (which has only ever been acknowledged through Funpub's Carzap).

 

Why does Toxitron look green/purple in some pictures (good) but then on Hasbro's site he looks yellowish/pink (not good)?

I hope that Hasbro's site has him oversaturated, or maybe they are giving us a peak on how it will look in a year after it yellows?

Mark’s in hand photos should be taken as what the figure will look like under common light. Hasbro’s stock photos tend to be taken in very bright studios were lamps are shining down on the figure, and there is undoubtedly some doctoring to a degree.

 

All this talk about G2 Motormaster, I still need regular Legacy Motormaster! This has to be the only recent figure I've not actually seen on store shelves even once.
